Why is reggae so shit?
Is there a reason to listen to that crap other than "DUDE WEED LMAO".
Idk
There are some interesting concepts in reggae. Firstly the culture may be interesting depending who you are. Also cool basslines, drum grovers and guitar deeding on what your thing is. Though 99% of reggae artists are shit the only decants ones I could name would be Bob M, Totes and Maytals and Bad brains and they're mostly hardcore.

Reggae's roots were a very new and interesting sound at the time, rhythmically completely unique with unorthodox mixing on the instruments. In reggae's heyday it often had a lot of political lyrical themes so that's pretty significant.
Nowadays there seems to be nothing going on musically; it definitely hasn't aged that well. The best reggae I know I mostly enjoy because the musicians are extremely tight and there's a lot of cool bass grooves. If you're into guitarwork or drumming there's not a lot going on.
I like dub a whole lot, so try that if you want a taste of reggae without getting bored. A lot of dub can be really interesting.

I went to film camp. I've read Sartre. I've read Thomas Pynchon. I've read Ayn Rand. I've been to Italy, I've been to France. I speak French! I've been to Spain. I've been to South America. I've been to Kenya, I've been to China. I backpacked across Europe.
I prefer tea to coffee. I've been to Greece. I love Greek food! I'm a foodie. I'm always on the look-out for a great little place to get breakfast. Sometimes I go to Barnes & Noble and lose track of the time. The black people that I've met... say that I have a lot of flavor.
I love my MacBook, but I also love my MacBook Pro. Because it has the word "pro" on it. Short for "prolapse". I drive an ancient Volvo that barely starts.
The Matrix and Inception are the first movies in the last ten years... that made me really think. Yeah I paint, no big deal. I think conventional painting rules are stodgy, archaic.
To bend the spoon, you have to realize there is no spoon. Think outside the box. Coexist. Coexist and one more thing: if you don't know the difference between "your" and "you're", "you're" and "your", you're a fucking idiot. Get the fuck off my Facebook wall.
And yeah, Jenny Hval is my favorite artist. I've met God and guess what: she's black.

Is trip-hop a good genre?
>>68670812
pic yes
triphop no
>>68670812
The 3 trip hop artists are good yeah, bit depressing though.
>>68670812
There's too little of it to judge. Most triphop is hardly recognizably "triphop," including Portishead. Massive Attack are still the best at it, really.
why are they trying to kill kanye's character?
beyonce #slayed him already though
who is this guy
>>68670721
His scene is too incestuous. Srsly if other acts can't survive past all the people screwing on 300 and the such then that's trouble that needs to be dealt with prejudicial fervor

What a bokari thing to say. Also it's crazy how ugly jay-z is compared to Beyoncé.

Yo shouldn't
Why is it that emo music has cringy lyrics, anf doesn't even have good instrumentals to make up for? This is the only emo album I've heard that's good sonically, with not so bad lyrics. Someone please prove me wrong
One of the worst emo bands I know
midwest emo, punk-ish emo, MCR-tier emo, metalcore emo, it's all equally bad.
idk merchant ships had some wonderful instrumentals AND lyrics
also snowing and E!E!
I've always been amused when I see a white artist using the "n" word in a song. Though it happens very rarely.
I know of:
Woman is the Nigger of the World by John Lennon
>the whole damn song
Nigger Fucker by David Allan Coe
>Again, the whole damn song
The Classical by The Fall
>"Where are the obligatory niggers?"
The Violence of Truth by The The
>"while the niggers of this world are starving with their mouths wide open"
Highway to Hell by AC/DC
>"She's a nigger on a one way ride"
Anthony's Song by Billy Joel
>"Niggers can't drive with a broken back"
And Kings Lead Hat by Brian Eno (kind of)
>"Four darkies in a big black car"
Can anybody think of any else? I'm purposefully disqualifying Johnny Rebel or any other White Power singer from this list.
