They are actually not very good. Their songwriting is formulaic as hell. They basically get a shit ton of credit for Paranoid Android. That one song made their career. Every other song is verse chorus verse bullshit.
>Paranoid Android
>the one song that made their career
>paranoid android made their career
Good guess but you're 2 albums off
What is Creep?
whats /mu/ thoughts on video game music?
do you consider it real music? do you like it?
>>68849692
>do you consider it real music
Of course
>do you like it
Most of the time it's shit, but certain games have charming or nostalgic music that is really nice, but not something I'd sit down and listen to without the game. Runescape has the best videogame music in my opinion.

Listen to The 1975 and stop listening to your autistic, edgy, "real music" bands.
And no metal will not be the music people will study in the future.

What does /mu/ think of The Blues Brothers?
>>68848730
It's a hundred and six miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.
BRING ME FOUR FRIED CHICKENS AND A COKE
Hey, I was just listening to different versions of Messin' With The Kid (or Man)
The Blues Brothers successfully raised the profile of some very deserving musicians among mainstream audiences, which was nice
The original movie is a classic and the soundtrack album is good as soundtrack albums go, the other recordings less so
Who was the "coolest" band ever?
My vote either goes to MC5 or Velvet Underground

Death Grips.

Painting With only had two good songs so their next one better be damn good
Just got back from their NYC concert.
I think this is it. I dunno why, it just feels that way. If anything, they may revisit old material in new ways. I could be wrong.
Show was great, though. Whoever they got to drum for them on this tour is a tremendous boon to their sound. Only criticism, I hate the way Avey sings Floridada live. It's definitely on purpose, and maybe it's because he hates the song's popularity or something, but it is terrible. Besides that, honest to god remarkable show.
this album is really good
I unironically enjoy it. It has a charming atmosphere and makes me feel pretty nostalgic. While it is a disappointing follow up to Filosofem, it's to be expected for an album released from prison. Still though, Hliðskjálf is much better.
>>68848407
This just sounds like Runescape music to me.
>>68848407
You'd probably like his new stuff. This is the best track of this style I think. Sol Austan Mani Vestan is really consistent, and The Ways of Yore is less consistent but has a couple of these spoken word songs that are a real treat.

This is the only song I remember clearly from Hlidskjalf but I think it's the best thing he ever made, especially reading along with the accompanying text while listening.

"Alone in the night, Fijo is crying; she has been left by her
husband who had to leave to fight the darkness of matter.
Thoughts of what once was flow through her mind; their play in
the green grass and under colourful trees, wonderful fields of
flowers, fresh fruits and berries, and beautiful music from the
elven choirs. Running waters make them dream, lakes where they
bathed, riverfalls and marvelous clouds in the sky. They were
happy, they had their Golden Age. Now, all she has left are her
Golden Tears, that run from her skyblue eyes, as a witness to
what once was - to what is lost forever; until a New World is
born, after Ragnarok. In the meantime, give our dear Fijo some
warm thoughts, to help her through the cold nights."
