I'm late for the punk party and I'm not even sure of the sub-genres that exist.
I started listening NOFX when I was younger, but then kinda ignored punk. Now I listened to Melt Banana and the flame reignited.
These are the only punk bands I like so far. What do you recommend I listen to?
>>68935734
Literally anything on fat wreck they all sound the same
Forgot Dead Kennedys, I also like that one.
The Decline is the best thing NOFX ever did.
>be me
>consider myself to like a wide varity of music, anything from classical to eurobeat
>come on mu
>don't understand wtf people are talking about
>check out most of the bands people are talking about
>they're all literally hipster garbage
>b...but muh art representation!
you're all literally fucking retarded and probably the same people who listen to east asian throatsinging and think wearing chains in public is acceptable.
Classical, eurobeat, the list just goes on and on!
every but rap and country
>>68935660
the point i was making was that those were two very different ends of a spectrum, obviously music isn't linear but when we're talking about things like general audience, electronic vs instrumental, upbeat vs slow paced, modern vs antique, classical and eurobeat don't exactly share a lot in common asides from back on the rocks having a beethoven opening.
ITT: albums with misleading covers
I love that big moe is getting some recognition on /mu/ these last couple weeks
also I don't think that album cover is misleading
How is it misleading? It's absurdist and cozy, just like the album
This is my favorite misleading cover

He's been posted here before that though
But he will mainly be known as one of the first artists to visually promote the cup of lean image
>post-punk
>goth rock
>deathrock
>dark/new/minimal/cold wave
>Industrial
>Post-Industrial genres (EBM, Aggrotech, Futurepop, Dark Electro, etc.)
Other "dark" music may also be discussed.

in the flat field and only theatre of pain are both shitty albums
not even baiting even though /dark/ seems easily trolled...

damn
So i've been getting into classical music lately, but one thing i've always wondered is, how did they record the music for us to listen to today if things like microphones weren't invented back in the days of Beethoven and Bach etc?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
seashells.
>>68935400
>things like microphones weren't invented back then
This is one of the most beautiful album ever made.
>>68935362
probably
Great thread
>>68935362
Ahead of their time desu
why is Beyoncé so much better than Oneohtrix Point Never?
Because she has doobs.
>>68935179
You are such a funny guy beyonceposter
man you are cracking me up
yer posting like an absolute madman, anon
So, people on /mu/ are constantly discussing Deathconsciousness, but rarely pic related.
What's the consensus?
Is it worth listening to?
>>68935118
i always preferred TUW to Deathconsciousness.
DC is too damn long for it's own good. There's a 50-60 minute masterpiece buried somewhere in that album.
>>68935151
yeah I think that's why Giles Corey is such a great album, it's still got the long, emotional songs but it's a lot easier to listen to casually, partly because the overall length is only 56 minutes
>>68935118
Have started listening to this recently.. In my opinion, If some of the tracks had been more polished, this would've been a modern rock classic. Love "Music Will Untune the Sky" and "Dan and Tim.."
I will start off with the obvious
>>68935031
How the fuck is ITCOTCK comfy?
Medieval music is so comfy
>>68935031
>Max Richter
Bad debut albums by artists you like
It didn't click with me.

>>68935033

I'M SO FUCKING TRIGGERED, HOLY SHIT.
Wasted trips

Welcome to the 21st century.
They aren't even being subtle about it anymore.

This album is amazing, I couldnt believe the quality all the way through the first time I listened to it. And the worst song was the one which got famous, go figure.
>>68934845
>Just What I Needed is the worst song
I love the album but what are you on?
Can we all at least agree that My Best Friend's Girl is the best song on here?
THE KOMBUCHA
MUSHROOM PEOPLE
SITTING AROUND ALL DAY
WHO WILL BELIEVE YOU?
is james ferraro the most creative musician alive?

The most is too definitive.
One of, most assuredly.
