I've laughed off prog as boring wank about wizards my whole life, but now I've found this album. And it's good, really good. The second half isn't that great but the title track is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. I went back and listened to the two previous Yes albums and there was nothing of a similar quality, so where do I go next? Does prog have anything else to offer?
>>69188850
>where do I go next
Nowhere. You stay there and listen to it again because you didn't get the memo that Siberian Khatru is a total bop.

Where do I get started with learning to play jazz piano /mu/?
>>69188829
Listen to as much jazz as possible
Learn all your major/minor scales
Get familiar with all 7th chords and how to build them
Learn the basics of how to read music
Learn how to do Roman analysis of music
Then get this book and start learning an easy standard like Autumn Leaves or There Will Never Be Another You. Find a jazz piano solo you like and start transcribing it.
>>69189073
>Listen to as much jazz as possible
Already listen to a decent amount
>Learn all your major/minor scales
I'm pretty decent with remembering which notes are in a scale, but I kind of have difficulty playing them fast.
>Get familiar with all 7th chords and how to build them
As in Min7, Maj7 and Dom7?
>Learn the basics of how to read music
Already can do this
>Learn how to do Roman analysis of music
Have no idea what this is but will research it promptly.
>Then get this book and start learning an easy standard like Autumn Leaves or There Will Never Be Another You. Find a jazz piano solo you like and start transcribing it.
Okay, thank you for time and advice anon. I hope you have a good night.

>I'm pretty decent with remembering which notes are in a scale, but I kind of have difficulty playing them fast.
Get good at playing them fast with both hands and correct fingering. Do them at least two octaves. You should be able play any major scale quickly and smoothly with no thought at all.
>As in Min7, Maj7 and Dom7?
yes also m7b5, and fully diminished
>Have no idea what this is but will research it promptly.
Practice by analyzing Bach chorales until you can analyze a piece easily just by looking at it

2016 music
I met a girl I like (she's really cool we have the same taste music, and humor, ect) but my friend started dating her. And when they break up (he has a new girlfriend every month, while, I never had one) I won't be able to talk to her anymore without feeling like I'm backstabing my friend.
when I usually get sad I let all my emotions run through My Guitar.
But I've played all day I still feel depressed.
Is there Anybody that can give me advice or at least recommend good feels songs to play/ listen to
I'm always a sucker for Cage the Elephant - Shake Me Down when I'm depressed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v27TRan1SBI

Kings of Leon - Pyro
Why did it take me so long to realize this is his best album
I'd say it's his 4th best
>>69187976
It is definitely a good album and doesn't deserve the bad wrap most people give it, but you are kidding yourself if you think it's his best album. MBDTF, Late Registration, and TLOP are all objectively better.
