why is this a thread
>tfw black people invented jazz, blues, soul, funk, r&b, house, hip-hop and basically every other modern genre of music
>mfw you can't invent music, only rearticulate what exists
for the most part yes, primarily the rhythmic elements, we have to thank the europoors for harmony tho
>blues
>modern genre
pentatonic =/= blues
the beach boys were the first in the world to use the theremin in music
>>69310962
Yep. I think it's one of the things that really made Pet Sounds stand out so much in 66.
how did one man have so much talent

this and Blackstar
>mfw the best version of Transilvanian Hunger I've ever heard is pic related
>Polish cassette tape from 1996 on Metal Mind records
>mfw I own the CD and the record, and neither of them can compete with this tape
>currently trying to rip it to my computer
>noticing tiny crackle sounds in the left ear of my headphones
I'm not sure if my tape is starting to wear out, or if my equipment is shit. It's barely noticeable, but it's slightly annoying. The difference between this particular tape and every other version of this record is night and day. It sounds that good. I want to put this rip on YouTube for everyone to hear.
Just seek out a sealed copy of that particular version on Discogs, check all of your equipment and make sure all of the connections are good, and rip that one before playing/ruining it.
>>69310940
It's probably just the tape, which is alright. It's an old tape and the Polish never really cared when it came to making bootleg cassettes -- especially metal/grindcore/"louder music" tapes, the same could be said for Russia or Bulgaria. They are cheaply made cassettes. You just gotta take it as is, it's not a bad thing though. Then again, it could be your tape deck making those tiny little crackles as a result of static.
Please share it with us though, I'm interested in hearing it.
>>69311173
I'm ripping it right now. The B-side is giving me some trouble, but I'll put it on YouTube when I'm done.
It's weird, this album usually sounds muddy and trebley, even on vinyl, but this version sounds pretty clear. The drums and bass are loud.
How do I com up with lyrics if I'm apathetic and don't have strong feelings toward anything?
just try to write cool one liners and string them together
incite some feelings or write objectively
look up cut up technique
Music is a form of expression so you could sing about you lack of empathy?
This is very, very good. Just one year ago I would have told you this was Fiona's worst album. Today I'm trying to determine whether or not it is her best.
Why do our musical tastes change over time?
O Sailor is the song that made me interested in her in the first place.
>>69310633
ayy lmao. mine was Criminal, and it's all thanks to Vh1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 90's"!
O'Sailor is one of ny favorites though.
>>69310586
I haven't listened to it in years but from what I remember it's Idler Wheel > When the Pawn > Extroadinary Machine > Tidal. I did learn not about love on piano though (and never is a promise).
Why don't you guys like this one as much? Not trying to claim superiority or be contrarian. Just sincerely curious.
Avalanches thread, I guess.
after the first four songs I turned it off in disgust that it is literally nothing more than them purchasing the rights to old songs and repackaging them as their own with just some average rapping over it or a few bleeps and boops
wow its literally fucking nothing

I'm obsessed to learn more about him because he seems at least really interesting and I love his music. Also there is going to be new album, I hope soon. There is nothing wrong with albums getting political as long as they are taking hard stances and not just being political for attention, grow up.
