How much money do you make?
>He prefers musicians who can play with emotion to those who are technically gifted
>He doesn't realize that the latter are necessarily the former but the opposite isn't true
How to spot pseuds who know literally NOTHING about music general
>>69341658
Actually you need to have emotion and/or creative/interesting/enjoyable writing ideas for your endless pentatonic DUDE SOLOS to be enjoyable
>>69341712
There is no emotion in music, idiot. There is only playing or singing in a way that conveys emotion, and that is done using technique.
>>69341736
What about lyricism and melody?
is skrillex dubstep or brostep and what is brostep
>>69341582
is merzbow noise or bronoise and what is bronoise
Dubstep is good British dance music
Brostep is American EDM trash
I'll kick your fucking ass if ask me a stupid question like that again, slut.
Thinking about getting this
But $350 just for a fucking vocoder?
I would buy a MicoKorg S, which has a shit ton of sounds but Im not sure that you can balance between Dry/Wet vocal signal with the vocoder function like you can with this Roland, which is a deal breaker.
Can anyone answer this question? I've called Korg, Guitar Center, and Sweetwater and nobody can answer this simple yes or no question
>>69341439
Microkorgs sound like ass.
Get one of these and a decent synth.
>why do you want to balance dry/wet of the vocoder?
because I don't want full on Daft Punk robot ass voice that you can barely understand, but a little touch of it is nice as hell
>you know you can just record the vocoded voice and then record a non vocoded voice on seperate track and balance them in the mix
thats work I'd rather not do and would require two mics live
Have you considered the waves plugin? Id rather drop money on a nice synth and just get a vst. Maybe you already have a nice synth though.
I listened to practically every major music genre except metal, but then I discovered this: https://youtu.be/T9TvcAMENJE
I got really hooked on the melodies and how different it sounded than most of what metal dudes I know listen to. The thing I especially liked about it is that it uses growling and some harder drumming/guitars and such, but doesn't sound like an average black metal song overall.
Anything sort of similar to this?

remember the JD release speculation threads? sometimes I miss them
Why is bands breaking up for the most part just not a thing anymore? It used to be that a band would do their best work and then break up, or they'd do their best work and maybe make one bad album and be like, "Whoops, guess this doesn't work anymore" and they modestly resign. You just never hear about that happening anymore, bands are like, "NO! We carry on," even when the circumstances that provoked their best work have passed, and it becomes this weird game of keeping the name alive with zero integrity.

Money (no pun intended towards your pic)
>>69340895
Because most bands today are full of hacks who care more about money more than artistic credibility or even about their egos anymore.

I thought that pic was Lauren Mayberry at first
Start posting your ballots! Here are mine. I just wished they would've made it a top 20 format; would've been able to represent my own year better that way. Off the list albums picks are: Jeffery, There's Alot Going On, iiiDrops, Moon Shoes, Freetown Sound, The Impossible Kid, etc. Off the list song picks are too many.
Anyway let's talk about the year in music. Cheers
