Did Styx ever make a good album? Or are they the only band where their Greatest hits is their best album?

I'm curios too OP, please deliver.
why isn't there a thread about this? what are everyone's opinions? I actually like it quite a bit. Sidewalks is great, Rockin is critically underrated, Party Monster is critically overrated, and False Alarm's drop has a really energizing synth to it. How do you feel?
it's pretty good, pop AOTY without a doubt.
kendrick song was a huge disappointment but
>>69342488
I didn't like half of the album the first time I went through it, but its growing on me. My favorites are Party Monster, Die for you, I feel it coming. The album could lose six feet under to ordinary life and I wouldn't care much.

His music is so bad, but for some reason I like it and I can't put my finger on it.
Why is this?
>>69342241
You like it ironically, but like most hip hop today, nobody really appreciates it sincerely because sincerity is exposing. We live in an age where to be completely honest about art opens you to ridicule, and kids these days are pussies who can't commit 100% to liking something because that "gay."
To be cool in 2016 is to be a master at covering up the fact that you secretly hate yourself.
>>69342523
or becuase the beats are sick lol
>>69342561
Yeah dropping default 808 samples and adding fuck tonnes of reverb to cover up your mistakes in the midrange and treble is REAL impressive.
Based on the Beatles vs Rolling Stones threads.
It's time to decide which ecclectic musician with a large discography you like better. Ziggy Stardust, or the Symbol?

prince is better tho they're both great. if i had to listen to like one or two songs, i'd pick david, but if i was going to listen to a whole album worth of music, i'd go with prince
>>69342309
Fundamentally and objectively incorrect btw.
How long can the denial last? Why have fans not realized this is shit yet?
>I don't like it
>Therefore no one can like it
Nice reasoning
>>69342275
I can usually understand where the masses are coming from when I difer from them but this is totally puzzling.
>>69342193
>Why have fans not realized this is shit yet?
because radiohead fans are mindless fanatics that used their love for the band as a fashion statement. And , because TKOL was so dissapointed and badly received, they felt like that was a personal failure.
That's the reason why are they praising AMSP this hard, because they REALLY needed something similar to the sound of the golden age of the band.
Good or bad?
>>69342141
Funny for 10 minutes.
so bad it's good
>>69342527
Said it before I could.
I think the band knows they're silly though, so they get a pass. I mean watch their videos and you know they're sort of going with the aging 80's guy shtick.
A little bit of musical shlock is okay as long as you know it's shlock. It's the musical equivalent of Sharknato, which is okay.
I mean if you really wanna sit their and ponder the artistic integrity of what is essentially a joke band, then you've tumbled into a hipsterdom that you cannot be saved from.
