A friend of mine turned me on to him a few months back, everything I've heard from him I've loved but there's so much music it got overwhelming and I kinda just moved on

as a person into buckethead, nut much of /mu/ is. the subreddit and proboards are pretty active though

over the last three or four years he stopped touring and started recording like crazy and released a mini album every few weeks, which ended up being like almost two hundred albums, called pikes, over the course of a year or two

I've only listened to a handful of the pikes, most of the ones I've heard are pretty good, but bucket does a lot of like guitar seizure shit where he's playing so fast that it just sounds like incoherent bs. a lot of his songs have that

Either way, if you're interested, I would recommend the albums Giant Robot, Elephant Man's Alarm Clock, and pikes Project Little Man, Coupon, Look Up There, and Hold Me Forever

Numan went from being one of the greatest synthpop artists to being a decent, respectable industrial rock artist. Not a bad way to be. And if the "alt right" retards don't like him, that only says good things about him.

The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as “the greatest or most significant or most influential” rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success. The Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worthy of being saved.

They decided that they had earned enough money between 1994-1996, that they could quit and be comfortable for the rest of their lives and appea on gameshows, be a politician, or a farmer, etc. After reuniting for their 20th Anniversary in 2009 and again in 2012 for no real reason ($$$), Blur (and Gorillaz) were, to the cheers of music lovers everywhere, finally laid to rest late last year (as confirmed by the bands' singer Damon in an interview).
