I just liusten to Borhter sport and my girls and suimmertime clothes and then the rest of the album clicked later. keep that in mind for other albums you just cant "into". <:)
>Belle and Sebastian - The Fox in the Snow
>Cocteau Twins - Frou-frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires
>Rilo Kiley - Portions For Foxes
Are all songs about foxes pretty good or are there bad songs about foxes too? Also pls recommend more good songs about foxes?

I like Treasure and Victorialand more. HOLV is definitely the place to start with the band though, excellent mix of quality and accessibility.
>>69442382
I've found that Cocteau Twins fans tend to fall into one of two camps:
The ones that gush over Treasure, but hate HoLV for its pop sensibilities
The ones that love HoLV for its tightly wound pop hooks/melodies and shimmery tones, but can't seem to get into Treasure (which sounds gloomy and disjointed by comparison)
This album is so fucking good, why isn't it talked about more?
Also 80s/90s Post-Hardcore thread I guess
>>69441632
>why isn't it talked about more?
cuz theres nothing more to say. everyone knows about it
I hate it when people post threads like this.
Asking why nobody talks about an album without actually bringing anything up about it to discuss.
Also what this guy said>>69441650
What else is there to say OP? This album is posted in pretty much every punk thread on /mu/ already.
Nomeansno is actually noise rock like Unsane - Total Destruction in particular
Lorde > Grimes

9-/10 forsure. I ca see how it's a 10 though. Fantastic lyrical themes, great production, advanced concepts, and 7-10 minute Bangers. It's definetely kick ass
This one for sure, others off the top of my head are:
Joanna Newsom - Ys
Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz
Eskimeaux - O.K.
Ryo Fukui - Scenery
Errol Garner - Concert by the Sea
Nujabes - Metaphorical Music
Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid m.A.A.d. City
Kanye West - The College Dropout & MBDTF
Frank Ocean - Blonde
Franz Ferdinand - s/t
Death Grips - The Money Store
Animal Collective - Sung Tongs
I don't know if those are too many 10/10s for one person to have but I don't think there are too many objectionable inclusions here except for O.K. and Blonde just due to recency
>>69441437
My theory is when you have that high of scores, it means you are finding more within the music to love, probably feelings that other people are too numb to feel.
Rating music is overrated anyways because their is no objectivity within music, but it's definitely a fun activity to do
Anyone else hyped as hell for RTJ3?
>>69440951
Yeah man. 2016 was a decent year for hip hop. Can't wait to see what's next.
i'm happy for them to get their frat dude video game money since they were great solo artists long ago but as a duo they are musically dead to me
>being hyped for meme rap
ya dun goofed, OP
At least use an original picture to represent a wall ya dingus
I personally like the blank cover instead
the text is cool, but the coldness of the blank wall is just something much more representative of the album
I have the opportunity to join a pop-punk band with a female vocalist, kinda like Paramore, or join a heavier one where the singer can scream and it's heavy alt-rock/metalcore with a keyboardist too
The pop-punk genre is coming to a dead end now imo, the glory days of the 2000s are over.
Of course I'd enjoy playing with the 1st band but if no one's coming to our shows what's the point? Music has to be shared
What do you think? What band should I choose to play in? ( I play guitar)
I feel that pop punk bands have been sprouting up a lot more frequently, but not enough of them are really bringing anything new to the table. As someone who grew up with Blink-182 before their self titled, and listened to all the 2000's pop punk, I just feel that a lot of the music they make sounds similar to Blink, or New Found Glory or whatever.
Well you're gonna shine more in the second band and I agree pop-punk is dead, but is it really metalcore? Like, more Highly Suspect or Beartooth?
>>69441008
The 2nd band is not complete yet actually (just vocalist + keyboardist) and the vocalist is pretty open to suggestions so I really can give it the direction I want.
He's into heavier bands like Chelsea Grin and Attila but I talked to him about a softer kind of metal like Bring me the horizon : Sempiternal/That's the spirit and he likes it so it's probably what we would sound like
+thanks for making me discover Highly Suspect, it sounds dope
