fuck off
If you don't like Boards of Canada, you're not going to like this. BoC is infamous for evolving their sound very little over the course of their career.
That being said, this album takes on an alluringly creepy tone in comparison to their previous record, Music Has The Right to Children. Whereas that record feels like you're swimming through a sugary-sweet vat of nostalgia, this one feels like trudging through a demented fairy tale. The childish undertones are still there, but in an entirely new perspective. The track "Gyroscope" is a perfect example of this. It was actually a part of the soundtrack for the blockbuster horror movie "Sinister", which is about children who are taken control of by an evil deity and record the deaths of their families using a vintage super 8 camera. That one sentence pretty much sums up the feel of this record for me. Twisted and nostalgic at the same time.
Once again, if you can't get into anything else BoC does, you won't get into this either. Because take away everything I just said and it's still BoC.

You can delete your thread OP this guy pretty much nailed it.
What would Kid A sound like if it was made by Americans?
Good
This album has aged like a fine wine.
I haven't listened in a long time since it really starts to drag on near the end.
i never really want to listen to the entire thing, but 30 hours, real friends and the father stretch my hands suite are fucking extraordinary
its been like 10 months u fucking muppet
Why is there no music scene in the mainstream anymore?
The last one I could think of would be the whole indie folk era of the late 2000s.
Vaporwave is just a fucking meme
>>69446211
Don't know about US but Grime music scene is mainstream as fuck right now in the UK. It took fucking Radiohead coming back to stop Skepta having the #1 album when it came out. That's totally crazy.
>>69446267
Wasn't grime really mainstream in the UK around 2003-2005 too?
>>69447251
not like this
This summer I saw so many big names in hiphop like Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Ferg, Rocky, Skepta and ScHoolboy Q. Up until the end of this summer I was a lot into these artists and the genre as a whole.
Now my interest is thinning out, only act that is remotely hiphop I can actively listen to without yawning is Death Grips who I also saw a month ago or something.
Is there something wrong with me? Did I absorb too much hiphop to keep liking it? Am I growing old? Is this what metalheads go through? Does this mean I'm a 20 year old adult now? I demand answers. Should I just give up on the genre as a whole, is there no hope for me left? I can't even listen to the punkshit of Beastie Boys anymore.
Right now I'm listening to the newest Swet Shop Boys, 3 songs in and I'm already bored eventhough I know it's an interesting record. What the fuck.

>being this white
lol just go back to rock and metal
>>69446148
I'm not white, I'm from the middle-east.
The artists you listed are one of the more boring rappers imo.
Try other things such as Anderson Paak, Chance the Rapper and J cole or more oldschool like Gang Starr, Mos Def or Mad villain
Friendly reminder that you can't into the GrimesCuckhold if you love these albums.
I'm ok with that.
>>69446117
You're missing out, anon.
I love Liquid Swords and Scenes from a Memory :(
what kind of keyboard do you recommend to buy? i'm pretty much completely new to this and i would like something that is not too expensive but it doesn't have to be really cheap either. any good ones that you have had experience with?
pic related, i was looking at this one but don't have a clue if it's good or not
Looks like a synth you got there senpai. Make sure you know the difference.
Novation, M-Audio, APC and Korg are good places to start. With MIDI controllers, they're all fundamentally the same so the biggest part is choosing what 'format' you're after ie launchpad style (pads), keys, faders, pots etc.
Word of warning, cheap ones will feel cheap and won't last as long and M-Audio are notorious for pitch wheels that break and send data mercilessly after a while which can cause huge problems.
I'd say look up MIDI controllers and brands and just kind of look at what's on offer. Check reviews and figure out a budget and what you'd like to start with.
Source: studied Music Tech at uni and have performed/written almost exclusively with MIDI for four years.
MIDI keyboards don't really matter, they all essentially do the same thing the only difference between them is the weight of their keys and maybe whatever control parameters on it. If you're a beginner just buy a cheap one to get you started. I have a novation launch key which works great with ableton
Pic related is my current MIDI keyboard that I've had for a good eight or nine months now, and it's worked like a charm. It's an AKM320 from Midiplus. I use it mainly for creating hiphop instrumentals and sometimes I try to practice my keyboard skills when my main one isn't available.
But yeah, what you got there is a synthesizer. Not a bad one, either.
Hello /mu/
I'm looking music for a party over a weekend, we'll have an indoor pool, lots of alcohol and some drugs, I was just looking for some music to go with it to make the experience even more amazing, especially for the area in within the indoor pool is located.
Right now I was thinking going with a theme, i.e. music like For What It's Worth - Buffalo Springfield, All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix, Bad Moon Rising Creedence Clearwater Revival, Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf, I Got You Babe - Sonny and Cher, I Do My Father's Drugs - Joe Pug
You get the theme, I am wondering if it might be too imposing, depending on how drunk the people are, the acoustics at the indoor pool etc. But I am open for other suggestions, my music taste is pretty broad as if for all the other people attending
No one?
>>69445846
I'd go and ask on 420chan, I think the people that do drugs on 4chan are the minority.

I was a jazz musician in high school and part of college and these were the essential albums to memorize. After that, we branched out and experimented with other genres. Personal favorite jazz albums of mine are
Getz/Gilberto- Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto (Boss Nova)
Wave- Antonio Carlos Jobim (Bossa Nova)
Bitches Brew- Miles Davis (Jazz Fusion)
Idle Moments- Grant Greene (Guitar based jazz, kind of bluesy)
Saxophone Colossus- Sonny Rollins (Hard Bop)
Potrait in Jazz- Bill Evans (Melancholy piano based jazz)
What are your opinions on Arctic Monkeys
>>69445790

>>69445790
