I love each and every one of these albums so very much. But Campfire Songs is best...for two reasons

Doggy -> Two Corvettes. Awesome transition, and both songs are awesome.

De Soto De Sun is probably one of their best acoustic tracks they've recorded. It progresses very smoothly and the imagery it evokes is awesome. Moo Rah Rah Rain evokes some awesome imagery as well, always makes me think of the Dust Bowl.

I think you need to work on the basics first, and get something with weighted keys if you actually want to play pieces like the Moonlight sonata and not shit on them.

He will never top Yeezus. That was his creative peak.

Have you ever shared an opinion about music that sent the entire room into conniptions?

Last year I was in a room with a couple of hipster-types from college who were playing Kanye West. Somebody who knew I had a pretty high music IQ asked what I thought, and I told him that hip hop wasn't my thing.

There was a great big pause, and everybody stopped talking while Kanye moaned over the speaker

My acquaintance pressed me on it: "What do you mean you don't like hip hop? Everybody listens to hip hop"

I said: "Hip hop musicians are not intelligent or talented. The vast majority don't know how to play instruments or compose songs, and they overwhelmingly rely on the studio musicians and samples of better, more talented artists to make their own music for them." The token black guy in the back of the room made a silly Twitter face and a couple people gave that pity laugh they afford to black people when they know they're trying to be funny, but I wasn't done

"The Beatles's worst record featured more talent and skill than every single hip hop track in the history of recorded music."

The room went apeshit. Apparently pointing out the superior musicianship of dadrock in comparison to all of hip hop is a BIG no-no. The black guy, who apparently was an aspiring rapper, stood up and started sputtering about how instrumental skill and knowledge of music wasn't necessary to produce intelligent music (LMAO). My acquaintance shot me the dirtiest look, and some quiet girl said, "So why don't you fucking leave?"

I was obviously in the right, but I saw that Pitchfork and Reddit had brainwashed them too deeply for any argument to be worthwhile, so I left. Honestly the opinion is only controversial to a certain subset of the population, most people agree that rappers aren't talented.

While I disagree with you OP and think there are rappers who are talented as vocalists and lyricists (MF Doom has rhymes and wordplay that are quite impressive to me), I will say that whenever I say in public that Queen is overrated people literally lose their shit. Actually try this and see the reactions. It can be quite hilarious as people who have never listened to a full album in their entire lives go into conniption fits because you suggest that their blessed Freddie Mercury wasn't such a god after all.

Talk about your favorite records, both new and old.
Recommend me some stuff. I've heard most 90s midwest stuff, and not super into screamo.
Not really too familiar with this whole revival scene, though.

Dear reader, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you on a regrettable subculture which has been forming on our beloved /mu/.

>WHAT IS THEIR NAME?

Poseurs.

>WHAT IS THEIR DEAL?

Poseurs are people who go out of their way to cultivate an image of being interesting, by and large through doing their best to cultivate a "sophisticated" music taste.
HOWEVER, as these people have no self-sufficiency of their own, or any knowledge or familiarity with music beyond the pop sphere presented on sites such as Pitchfork, the best they can do to cultivate that image is to go on RateYourMusic and sheepishly drone the top-rated albums of whatever niche genre they think will bring them the most "patrician" or "underground" or "sophisticated" credibility.

IF you were to question them on the merit an album they claim to be a favorite, they would not be able to provide any substantial opinion or judgment regarding it(only empty buzzwords which they regurgitate without ever giving any thought to what they mean or how they relate to that artist) as in reality they have none of the knowledge which would help them to properly evaluate it.
The vast majority of them don't know music theory or have any sort of education(whether through personal exploration or professional education) on music/art history and have no familiarity with the origins, backgrounds and histories of their "favorite" genres, albums and artists. Their education begins and ends with RYM pages and lists and /mu/ chart thread images.

More effort goes into building up the perfect "patrician" RYM profile and curve using the perfect combination of albums and ratings than into actually trying to understand and genuinely appreciate what they are hearing.

This utter dilettantism and ignorance, however, does not prevent them from nurturing severe superiority complexes which serve as fuel for regular mockery, ridicule and debasement of the rest of this fine board's residents.

>BUT WHAT DO POSEURS ACTUALLY (CLAIM TO) LISTEN TO?

Presented in the OP is a brief introduction to the wild world of poseurcore. It is not an attempt at making a statement regarding the quality of the music produced by those artists. It is not the only music which poseurs listen to. It's just a quick rundown. If you wish, you can also take note of this somewhat more expansive text list of poseurcore favorites.
