Maus writes amazing pop tunes borrowing harmonies and changes from classical music even though they may sound like they were written in a couple of days

take a look at Jim O'Rourke for example.
He worked on his 'Simple songs' for 6 years. and there are only 8 songs. It's about 3/4 year per song. But he perfected them, though he says he didn't reach quite what he wanted even after all these years.

I'll give John as much time as he needs just because I'm a fan for 8 years already and I know he won't disappoint.
