Is it ok to go through my albums to delete the songs I think are fillers or don't like? Or is it a pleb thing not to have full albums? (pic unrelated)
It's a pleb thing to force yourself to listen to things you don't like. "Muh full albums" is a rockist delusion that /mu/ fell for, and the underage (You)s are about to prove me right.

You monster
an album experience is a thing that you will grow to understand once you start listening to great albums.
i use to delete songs that i didn't care for but i cant condone the activity anymore as i've grown to love many artists and songs i initially didn't understand or like.
on an initial listen sometimes you're just not on the same wavelength. know what im sayin?

there is no boat is there?
>>69688119
Sorry, I'm a huge pervert. Can someone point out the boat for me?
What the fuck, that boat looks like three naked women.
So iv'e listened to this song (Behold the kingdom of the wretched undying) (by Infant Anihilator) many times through to try and understand the ending of the song but im still unsure of what is going on. the story is told very clearly throughout the song but i feel like it ends on a cliff hanger, or maybe i missed something?
“Child of filth, you have disappointed me
You are not worthy
The power you seek is beneath the virtue of our legacy
Abide or be abandoned.”
Did he do something that he wasn't supposed to? were his intentions not what the chapel wanted? it says he is "the one to bring about the end of days"
so im stuck between 2 theories, since he was brought unto earth to bring about the end of days, does that mean his lust for raping children was a waste of time in the name of the cult? was he just supposed to end the world?
>attempting to make sense of infant annihilators lyrics
>General Infant Annihilator thread
Look man, I really like Infant Annihilator, but I'm sure there are abundance of better things to do than try to analize deathcore/slam lyrics
ITT: things to do to improve your musical IQ
I feel like /mu/ doesn't help people appreciate music enough, so I'll give some tips to help us with that. These are things to do to help you understand an album more. Feel free to share your own tips.
>read about the recording and production and immerse yourself in the artist's story
>look up live performances or music videos to add the visual component and see how they play the music
>read the lyrics while listening to the music and look up references you don't understand
>read/watch some reviews or start a discussion on /mu/ to get different views
>write down your thoughts while listening to the music, what goes through your imagination, scenes and stories the music inspires
pretty nice thread anon, I do some of those things but mostly with my favorite artists, I think people on /mu/ normaly just listen to an album 2 or 3 times and just give their opinion on the spot
>>69687776
I dont mean to be (thatguy)
But playing instruments really helps you appreciate music
going for a walk and listening to music without any other stimuli helps
all good ones
>students
Yeah leave this board now. You have no business talking about music if you're under 25.

I'm looking to get started with synths. I know almost nothing about them, but used to fuck around with Reason a lot so I do know a bit about the basic envelop controls and cutoffs and stuff like that.
Is this a good synth to get started with? I need something that is polyphonic because I play in a band where I do bass and lead on keys, and I really like being able to do chords.
What's /mu/'s thoughts on the Korg Minologue? Also synth general, I guess.

I've always thought the interface looks good and it's a good price but if you can try it out at a store or something that'd be optimal.
>>69687255
save up for years and get a moog
>>69687314
What does moog do better?
>>69687295
Yeah, what I liked about it is that all of the features are really easy to get the hang of. I went to a guitar center or something with a friend and this one stood out as the most intuitive as far as being able to make the sounds you want. I also think the sequencer is slick and the waveform display is a HUGE plus as someone just figuring out what each setting actually controls. Plus it just sounds so fly.
If pitchfork is so great how come they don't do great articles on legends like jandek

I just hope that he's turned the corner after Mature Themes, loom loom was a step in the right direction
I'd like him to go back to his lo-fi roots ideally but take the good songwriting with him
