Face it. Rihanna is better than your favorite artist.

its pretty easy to make a decent album when every writer in the world is literally throwing songs at you at the slight chance that they might get to eat your divine asshole
>>69727543
I don't think so...
>>69727543
is this picture real? good lord
What are some good bands/songs similar to the style of this album. I already got Jawbreaker
>>69727485
I think my favorite thing about Dookie is how unique it still is for a pop-punk album. Not many bands have been able to successfully replicate the sound of Dookie and write a good record beneath it. Dookie and Insomniac are once in a lifetime albums and the pinnacle of nineties pop-punk. Just enjoy this record and don't expect to find anything that sounds similar to be on-par. It really cannot compete.
Try some of the later Descendents albums. I think Everything Sucks is the most explicitly Green Day-ish. They have a new one this year too.
>>69727547
Gotta include nimrod in that list also, man
The rest of Green Day's discography is the only comparable thing, they evolved decently over time. Blink-182 were the only ones that came closest to the level of snottiness balanced with catchiness.
Does anyone know this model of guitar? It looks like a fender

The quality of DAC and headphones are actually very important to the music
It's literally night and day difference when you use $50 headphones comparing to $500 headphones
pic unrelated
Sennheiser HD 650s, soundcard is a Xonar Essence STX.

Why not? /g/ has a daily headphones thread
Anyway, I use the Koss Pro4S with my HTC 10. The DAC on that HTC is so good I stopped using my laptop for listening to music.
Koss have always made good shit for a fair price. These are their flagship right now (I think), and I'd say they're a more balanced alternative to the Meme-50. Still lacking in soundstage like the M50 and the bass sounds kinda anemic if you're used to more of a V-shape. But overall I love them

Looking for more bands/albums like pic related.
This still remains my favorite album of all time. The first time I listened to it I was just so blown away and I still can't quite get over it. The beautiful female vocals, impressive music, and then haunting lyrics create a really powerful lasting image.
I've tried listening to supposed stuff like this, but nothing else seems to capture its spirit. It makes me wonder if people listened to the first minute of Diana, went "dude weed lmao", and just group it up with all the other acid bands. The other things I've listened to are either not as catchy, lack the complexity, or are missing that element of beauty the album will randomly go to. It never quite tips too far passed the edge and I really enjoy how seamlessly it can move back and forth.
The only song I've heard that reminded me of it in a meaningful way is Genesis' "In the Cage." It has that similar sense of urgency and despair, but also dips back into catchy tunes.
For reference, here is one of the songs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzKgnX53H9I
It captures a lot of what I'm looking for too. At parts it sounds haunting and then at others it almost sounds beautiful and uplifting, until you take notice to the subject matter.
I like freak folk such as Comus, Exuma the list goes on
Ive been looking for the same thing for like 9 months and I havent been able to find anything with the same feeling as Comus
Earlier AnCo. Try Sung Tongs, Here Comes the Indian, and Campfire Songs.
Prove me wrong
