eh, start your own.
Should I get Guitar lessons or Piano lessons? I already have a guitar at home and can play open chords really well as well as barre chords kinda, it's hard switching between some of them but I feel I could keep teaching myself that. It would be easier with a teacher though.
I have no piano knowledge however and would love to get into theory. I wanna make music as a hobby and the sound I'd like to go for would be heavily dream poppy, think boss rv5 reverb/delay pedals (gold standard sound would be beach house). Problem with piano is i dont own one at home tho i could get a keyboard eventually but it's not the instant gratification of the guitar i already have at home that i can play whenever along with lessons
Help me choose pls
>>69810668
bump
Just find a good guitar teacher. They'll teach you theory and picking up some basic keyboard skills isn't as hard once you know another instrument.
>>69810668
Piano lessons are good to learn to read music in general, but I found it really hard to translate that music reading ability to guitar sheet music. I guess it depends on what you want to learn
Post albums/artists that you like and others tell you why it's bad
holy shit, this album is great. i'm starting to get back into emo again after like 10-15 years, so i haven't heard much since like Dashboard Confessional -- "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar."
So anon, fill me in. What have I missed? I already listened to The Hotelier, who are fucking great.
does this album count as emo
I've been listening to it for the past few days
>>69810629
its a good one, but it came out in '96. I'm looking for essential emo albums from the last 10 years.
>>69810601
my favorite emo album is still bummed by nouns
it's definitely not midwestern emo though like the front bottoms

what does /mu/ think of Kim Mitchell and his old band, Max Webster?
too Canadian? too dadrock?
>I think it's a shame that most people here in America don't know about this dude. he's big in Canada though. one of my favorite guitarists for sure.

ah, the song that got me into Kim.
I was always a fan of Rush, so when I heard they did a duet with another Canadian band called Max Webster, I had to hear it. fucking awesome song and got me listening to MW and Kim.
here's his biggest hit for the plebs
https://youtu.be/gwwV0xE70Ks
not the best song on the album though.
Metal fans are, by nature, childish and immature. They are thrown into bizarre fits of excitement when anything remotely 'good' is released and therefore overrate these albums whilst in the midst of the headbanging, hairswinging honeymoon period. /mu/'s huge metal contingent means that fairly average metal albums will always rank much higher than deserved on annual and all-time charts. The metalhead barometer for perfection isn't Pet Sounds/Abbey Road/Astral Weeks - it's Reign in Blood/Ride the Lightning/Rust in Peace. You can therefore understand how roughly a hundred new albums every year sound like stone-cold classics.

Who is more talented? Morrissey or Johnny Marr?
listen to some girls are bigger than others
The real correct answer
Marr lost his touch after The Smiths but no doubt he was more talented
which musician do you suspect has the most toxic personality, /mu/?
I personally have a sneaking suspicion of Annie Clark aka St. Vincent being an overwhelmingly insufferable human being behind her meme persona
I hear one of the interviews she gave left such a bitter taste in the interviewers mouth that he swore to never listen to any of her music ever again
