Famous for his 4'33" piece and many other absurd compositions.
However, what are the best and essential works of him?
And what do you think he influenced most in music?
>>69933585
In a Landscape and Dream were my favorites
His influence was mainly freedom of composition "everything is music"
>Famous for his 4'33"
and yet he hates taking credit for it
>>69933649
first post nailed it
also he also helped start chance composition, but no one really cares about that.

What are some progressive rock groups/albums that do improvisation/jam stuff? There's a lot of psych rock, krautrock, and post-rock that do this, but seemingly not a lot of progressive rock. Post some progressive rock that does it. I'll start off with the only one I am familiar with, Soft Machine's Third.
Krautrock is just a label for German prog & experimental rock.
So Amon Duul
All the Canterbury stuff, but that's pretty much the English version of Krautrock.
>>69933689
But the English version of Krautrock is just normal Prog rock.
We did it first.
And Canterbury is a Town in England, the reason it's called Canterbury Scene is simply the pioneers of the style were from Canterbury.

change is a very scary thing to most people, it's hard for them to acknowledge and accept the groundbreaking revolutionary genius happening right in front of their very eyes
and Young Thug represents exactly that, a new era
>>69933014
Let's Ben honest if you listen to hiphop and don't like young thug or at least appreciate that he's the most creative and interesting rapper in the game today, you're a plebeian shit and honestly I'd rather not further discuss the genre with you.
Confidence is keen OP!
IF I FUCK THIS MODEL

Why all the hate for this band? They've done some very comfy albums, and are great live too.
>>69932593

Nirvana Lite
Post albums that are the definition of 5/10
On This Board: Post threads that are not biased bait in the title
the entirety of sacred bones' catalog
Every album made by RTJ would fit into that category
What do we think of Nicolas Jaar ?
(only post in this thread if you're handsome enough for electronic)
>>69932517
he's pretty overrated desu
how do I know if I'm handsome?
Listened to Sirens, it was boring as fuggg
ITT bands that only had one good album (their first one)
>>69932342
their second album was quite good to anon
>>69932463
absolute garbage. the only good song was the cover MONEEN did of accidents .
>>69932342
That sounds like music artists with only 2-3 albums and really didn't have anything going to begin with.
i remember just as little as 2 years ago nobody on here paid the beach boys (aside from pet sounds) no mind and now everybody on here celebrates their discography. i remember getting hated on for reccing sunflower! what happened?
love and mercy came out and they've become more trendy to like
>some trips shilled the beach boys until people liked them
>love and mercy
>brian's new album and autobiography
>50th anniversary of pet sounds

AOTY for me :) thank you Fantano

That album cover tells me "This album is going to be hot garbage and you shouldn't waste your time"
Who was actually better as a songwriter, Lennon-McCartney or Brian Wilson?
Definitely Lennon-McCartney. I always viewed Wilson's abilities as being more composer-like or arrangement based.
they're both great though
2017
THE YEAR BRIAN AND PAUL DIE
>>69932003
Brian was better on all fronts. Better chord progressions, better harmonies, better melodies (although I could see arguments made in favor of Lennon-McCartney on this one), better arrangements, better producer. Just better in literally every conceivable way.
