All of a sudden I can't stand prog music, has this happened to anyone else with any genre that they used to love?
congratulations on turning 18 OP
I'm kinda fading on punk rock desu. Just so much of it is like: "yea, i'm oppressed, a cop once told me i couldn't skate somewhere" and "because i have a vague philosophy and a leather jacket, i have permission to be a douchebag."
Feels bad man
You can easily burn yourself out on prog. There's only so many 15-minute solos and double albums one can take in a certain time period.
Jokes aside, this happens to me all the time with various genres, especially prog rock. I just switch to something else with a different feel. It's like using complementary colours in art.
I think short, loud, energetic punk songs form a nice antithesis to prog. Try listening to some of that. Happy listening anon.

If you're gonna be that vague then Bohemian Rhapsody is the most perfect song in general. It represents multiple genres which is why it can be considered as "the best song ever."

Stupid chart, but this one is 100% true. We need to stop using the fanbase strawman for everything. You're going to find stupid kids on the internet, no matter what.

THE Wire literally has been around since the early 1980s and tends to cover more avant-garde and underground music and art. It's a print magazine that is a pretty big deal in the music world over here in the UK and is sold in most record shops and news agents and I know they sell it at Barnes and Nobles stores in America. Simon Reynolds is probably their most prominent full-time writer (he's written several popular and acclaimed books about the post-punk, glam, and 90s rave music scenes) and big names like Brian Eno, Lee Ranaldo, and Robert Fripp have frequently contributed to the magazine in the past.
They're bigger than /mu/.
