>Allow us to end the pit of turmoil known as 2016 with some good news: St Vincent has a new album ready!
>In an interview with Guitar World, the artist known as Annie Clark said her fifth album would be due for release in the spring. She noted that recent global political events had inspired it.
>“I think it’ll be the deepest, boldest work I’ve ever done,” she told the magazine. “I feel the playing field is really open for creative people to do whatever you want, and that risk will be rewarded – especially now that we have such high stakes from a political and geopolitical standpoint.”
>The album will be the follow-up to 2014’s St Vincent, which won the Guardian’s album of the year poll. The news marks the end of a creative year for Clark, in which she contributed towards David Lynch’s first festival of disruption and spruced up the theme to The Golden Girls.

what aesthetic do y'all think Annie will go for in her next album?
I hope she goes for "cool grandma/mom"
St. Vincent x Chance The Rapper collab when?
>>70124228
I think if anything she'd collab with Kendrick.
Hurray
It boggles my mind to think that, in this day and age, when the Internet makes it possible for us to listen to nearly any piece of recorded music ever made, that there are actually still people out there who think that it's acceptable and ok to listen to RHCP.

Those inlays ruin it
whats the best/cheapest/easiest way for me to record myself playing shit/lines that i can play back as an MP3 to jam/play over top of.
ie write rhythm guitar to play lead over, or write basslines to play guitar over top of
should i buy a semi hollowbody reissue coronado ii bass for around 600
or the original, full hollowbody, from the 60's for 2 grand that is possibly fucked up

Latest song, doing vocals this week, love to hear some opinions on the mix, I think bass might be a tad heavy.
Do you guys ever use FM Synthesis for making 808-esque bass sounds?
i layered a square over a sine and then fm'd the square with a triangle-ish shape and then i lowpassed it. sounds p decent i think so far. def a better tone than a bare square wave imo.
>>70117966
yesssss!!!
in Sytrus you can design a sinusoid operator which sounds just like the perfect 808. then I filter that and I also turn on another oscillator just with one single pitch drop which isn't keytracked which is the attack of the kick and it sounds 10/10. I can send you the preset if you want.
and also ye, a lot of times it's just a distorted sine wave but you can make 808's with all sorts of waveforms.

the vocals that come in are a really great surprise, they work really well. the piano is good, but i could go for a little more atmosphere and texture in the background if you're going for an ambient track.
>>70117242
i think the vocals here could be a little bit louder, they get a bit drowned out during the choir sample. track is nice tho, 2:01 is a really good moment.
this is my first attempt at a cloud rap beat
