I'm going to listen to this tonight. I've only listened to World of Sleepers and thought it was pretty good.
wtf I love metalcore now
Bowie is crying
if you think thats bad you should see his tool ratings and reviews
>>70168903
Colors is one of the best prog metal albums ever recorded. Kinda pathetic that you dont like it. Makes your opinion on music rather questionable.
Opinions?
cheesy meme album; paved the way for shit like Cradle of Filth
>>70168810
inferior to Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
there are only two reasons why people prefer it to Anthems:
-the cover art is way better
-it came out earlier
>>70168810
I didn't like it before, but since Fantano reviewed it during Cal-assics Week, I like it now.

Was the internet a good or bad thing for music in general?
good
Good.
It makes it way easier for smaller artists to get noticed.
Napster era good
Current time, almost total death knell
>My favorite artists are Swans, Radiohead, Death Grips, Animal Collective, Neutral Milk Hotel, the Microphones, The Beach Boys, Weezer, Gorillaz, Xiu Xiu, Grimes, James Ferraro, Mac Demarco, Kendrick, and Tame Impala
>You could say I'm really into music!
That guy seems more the guy that's into black metal and vaporwave / pc music
i keep seeing pictures of this guy who the fuck is this person

Johnny NuMale.
Why don't people like this album that much? I think it's pretty good desu. The singles are all great and there's nothing bad enough to think that it's the end of an era for David Bowie.
It's a pop album and it did basically end Bowie's seemingly immortal creative streak.

Yes

First side is god-tier
second is alright
It's a Canadian band named Metric. Appeared on the Scott Pilgrim Soundtrack.
Poor man's Sounds.
Synthetica is lovely.
Doesn't Emily also sometimes sing in Broken Social Scene?
>>70168466

>You could say I'm a serious music fan
>Favorite albums are all generic, poptimist /mu/core and redditcore like radiohead
>Guys I love psychedelic music. Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips, of Montreal omg so good.

I want to tear this creature's face apart with my bare hands.
>>70168426
holy shit this angers me more than anything
tame impala and mac demarco killed big time "indie" music for the 2010's
Can I just say I genuinely don't understand the hate on here towards this band. This isn't even bait, I genuinely think most of their songs are good. Yes, Stressed Out and Ride are overplayed and mediocre. But those are just the tip of the iceberg. Is there a genuine reason /mu/ hates Twenty One Pilots other than the fact that's it the hip and cool thing to do?
I like their aesthetic, but most of their song themes revolve around typical Angsty-teen self dilemma things. It gets really tired fast.
I used to be rather indifferent to them, until the shitposting started to make me hate them. Musically, they're just bland. I personally only hate them because I'm annoyed with the shitposting + their insufferable fanbase. But the music itself is just...bleh.
>>70168598
Yeah, the fanbase is annoying as fuck. The "skeleton clique" definitely ruins the music for a ton of people.
Who are you rooting for /mu/?
clemson

1. No.
2. They sound nothing like Nirvana.
>The group rehearsed Van Vliet's difficult compositions for eight months, living communally in a small rented house in the Woodland Hills suburb of Los Angeles.
>Van Vliet implemented his vision by asserting complete artistic and emotional domination of his musicians.
>At various times one or another of the group members was put "in the barrel", with Van Vliet berating him continually, sometimes for days, until the musician collapsed in tears or in total submission to Van Vliet.
>According to John French and Bill Harkleroad these sessions often included physical violence.
>French described the situation as "cultlike"[5] and a visiting friend said "the environment in that house was positively Manson-esque."[6] Their material circumstances also were dire. With no income other than welfare and contributions from relatives, the group survived on a bare subsistence diet.
>French recounted living on no more than a small cup of soybeans a day for a month[7] and at one point band members were arrested for shoplifting food (with Zappa bailing them out).
>A visitor described their appearance as "cadaverous" and said that "they all looked in poor health".
>Band members were restricted from leaving the house and practiced for 14 or more hours a day.
>Vliet once told drummer John French he had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and thus he would see nonexistent conspiracies that explained this behaviour
holy shit
>>70168136
Funniest part to me is zappa bailing them out
Lmao I live in Woodland Hills. Their house is like five minutes from my place
