Who are considered the worst death metal or black metal bands? Starting to get into heavier metal genres and would like to hear opinions on stuff I that's just complete shit.
cattle decapitation is shit
Worst black metal? Silencer sucks pretty bad.
>inb4 DSBM fans defend his awful Yoda vocals
Liturgy is the worst thing associated with black metal.
What are some great organ pieces? I fell in love with Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor and I'm looking for more stuff like it. After discovering I liked that I found a song by Emerson Lake and Palmer called "The Three Fates" which also has some amazing organ in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8IlIthM-Og It's my favorite song right now by far, I can't get enough of it.
also by emerson lake and palmer, check out "The Barbarian"

Actually listening to that right now! haha
That whole self titled album is fucking insane.
>>70193129
I'd consider it my third favorite after Tarkus and Brain Salad Surgery. I'd agree that debut has Emerson's most impressive ketboard work though.
You might like some of Rick Wakeman's solo work too, I'd reccomend The Six Wives of Henry VIII, it's a completely instrumental album.
What is /mu/'s opinion on Mandolin Orange?
not a real niqqa ya feel
>>70192763
I feel you young blood
Clockwork orange is good for a "country band" but I think bates milk hotel is better
Thought this would be shit and we all know there are no good bands that wear costumes but their last album is pretty good and his (one of the ghouls) 'what's in my bag' was nice too
I unironically think Opus Eponymous is the cleverest album name ever
>However, when Papa Emeritus II was asked in an interview if he (Papa) was the Ghoul Writer, he said he was not.
Which Nameless Ghoul do you guys think writes everything? It must be the lead guitarist or the bassist, right? Omega has the weirdest name, but he's just the rhythm guitarist

What does it mean?
>Listen to whatever music you like. Who cares what others think??
>>70192498
What's wrong with listening to what you want to?
>>70192498
this thread is the embodiment of all things wrong with /mu/, aka caring more about the image of the music than the music itself
How do we fix metal fans?
they need to be exterminated
>being this mad that fans of another genre are courageous enough to call out stupidity in their realm of music when you're too pussy to stop yours
Metal fans aren't pussies you see. Unlike say...Trance fans that sat back and watched as their favorite form of music got bastardized by talentless hacks yet still to this day complain about Trance's death...or fans of Indie Rock that are now mad due to how many dime a dozen "so quirky and indeh!" lazy shitty bands are in the scene...or rappers like 21 Savage that think that a new rapping format (mumble rap) gives him freedom to be as lazy and uninspiring in his flow, metal fans won't just sit back and let that stuff kill their favorite kind of music.

No making a change.org like this is autistic
ITT: Post albums that never say the album name in any songs.
I'll start.
>never say the album name
>the wall
>"another brick in the wall"
>"tear down the wall"
>mfw
>>70192438
>"pink floyd the wall" never said
bet you feel stupid
pic related
>over 20 years old
>fuck me
>>70192256
true. production on this is amazing.
shame that songs are corny crap for angsty teens
>>70192310
I'm getting tired of this meme of people who don't look in-depth into the actual album and the actual meaning behind the songs.
Johnny Cash covered "Hurt". Should let every one know that there is a lot of substance to it from that alone, but I guess not.
>>70192335
the lyrics of cover are different
because he couldn't sing those angsty teen lyrics as an old man
Now that the proverbial dust has settled...
...were they really that bad in retrospect?
albini didn't like them so probably not
yeah
>>70192134
Yes.
I'M MAD AS FUCK

I really like this album, but don't know much about Emo except for American Football. Does anyone have any other reccs for emo/screamo stuff?
>>70191870

In celebration of his new EP, Let's all just wish Bowie a happy 70th birthday.
Happy birthday David.
What even happened to him?
I haven't heard anything about Bowie in about a year.
>>70192272
he's dead
>>70192281
what???
So now that rap has definitely peaked, we all agree Eminem is the unironic GOAT.
No. He isn't.
>Inb4 some stan defends this shit.
>>70191402
I think you mean tha Kane.
>>70191503
I like those albums but I get why people don't like them.
I mean, the hate for Relapse is a little weird to me but I still get the problems people had with it. But as they hate it they neglect to point out that Em was still rapping his ass off over dope ass beats. Maybe he was being extra immature and gross but I mean hey I don't think it is one of his best albums or anything.
I do really enjoy Relapse.
I think Recovery is his worst but is still very good for a mainstream Pop Rap type of album. Just not for an Eminem album.
Encore is a mess, but it is a fun one that I enjoy but I totally get the hate for Encore, that one I just personally find enjoyable but it is one of his worsts.
ITT: musicians you've encountered in your dreams
Last night it was Leonard Cohen. He was busy so we didn't talk very much but I asked if he could show some of his songs on bass guitar. We hurried around my hometown in a firetruck driven by a man I can't recall and at the end of my dream we saw every car in the city crashed, wrecked, broken and smoking. In the ditches, on the lawn and sidewalks.
I always wanted to meet him but never got the chance so that was a very pleasant dream. I wish to meet him again in my sleep. I'm grateful for it.
I had a dream that I got jumped by MC Ride.
I met Mark E Smith in a dream. He called me a cunt for some reason and threw a bottle at my head. I imagine this would be much like meeting the real Mark E Smith.
Last year I dreamed that I shared an apartment with both Brian Wilson and Paul Dano
