I talk to myself, or sing a little tune. Eventually I come up with something I like and I record myself. Over time I amass enough of those that I can throw a few of my best tunes together and create a complete song.

This is the intro and first verse to my hip hop-ish beat. There's current no mastering done, save for some volume adjustments. What would you suggest needs to be done to the track to make it a bit nicer? This is the first thing I've made which I'm legitimately happy with so far.

Totally agree with you man. John has a very good understanding and respect of the blues. Each album he's released is a bit different from the last so it's not stale and recycled. I honestly believe the man can play any genre he wants, but excels in blues and pop. If you haven't already, check out some of his unreleased songs.
