We wish a happy birthday to the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley
>Elvis could have potentially been a billionaire if Colonel Tom wasn't his manager
Fuck Tom Parker. RIP, King
>>70200683
It seems so bizarre to think of Elvis Presley, having not actually been there, because all of his most revered work is from the early years of his career when there wasn't much competition but he was actually a huge global phenomenon in the years when so much more interesting and experimental music was going on like the whole psychedelic and prog movements.
It's crazy to think he did stuff like cover Bob Dylan and then still have a whole decade more of his career to go.
He's obviously underrated on here but I admit I don't go back to him as much these days because I got most of his best stuff memorized.

So apparently Ryan Gosling played all the piano parts in La La Land after 3 months of practice. This is fucking bullshit right?

If he practiced for like at least 4-5 hours a day for 3 months straight, assuming he also had top notch quality instructing, yeah that sounds legit. He probably had previous experience though, I doubt he did this literally from scratch, assuming this is true.

>>70200212
I've given it a listen already, it's a 4/10 album.
/mu/'s opinion on Doris by Earl Sweatshirt?
I tried to listen to it again.
It's pretty okay.
Nothing really sticks though.
>>70200104
I'm a bit of an OF stan and all, but fuck Doris is a modern day Cuh-lassic, and Earl is still better.

How can you claim to be music lovers while always talking about the same two dozen albums?
Happens in almost every medium.
Fans always circle jerk about """classics""" whether it's literature, cinema, music or even paintings.
But Grimes and kpop are what the board currently obsess over.
>>70199962
I wouldn't say /mu/ obsesses over Kpop.
/kpop/ is a small community on /mu/ and threads are mostly the same posters waifuposting and jerking off together. It's a containment thread and they rarely interact with /mu/. It's just to appease the /a/ fags or 4chan purists.

Still haven't given this a proper listen. Does it really suck or am I just getting too old for this shit? Can't get passed first couple songs.
>>70199212
im with you, im relatively young
couldnt really get into it
would say it sucks just not my thing really
i think its amazing
>>70199212
I loved Painting With. To be honest, Floridada is the weakest song on the album in my opinion. Hocus Pocus into Vertical is great. It's at least a 7.5/10. Not amazing, but certainly not the "garbage" everyone makes it out to be.
What's he thinking /mu/?

"Zach said there'd be other black people here..."
''Oh no they're taking a picture and I'm in it. Oh god this is awkward, better not move. I'll pretend I'm looking at this piece of art right here. Ugh, why do I have so much trouble in social situations...''
>trusting potential /mu/ nerds around your paintings
