What level are your expectations for this album coming out tonorrow? When I heard The Castle, I thought it was okay, nothing special, but passable dream pop to me. Then they released How??? and I thought. Seriously? I hope this isn't a major song. It's the most generic, boring, dragged out dream pop. I didn't enjoy any of it at all. Then came We a Famly from the other day....dear fucking god that just destroyed nearly all of my hopes for this album. Not only was Miley Cyrus featured on it, but it just sounded awful. When it hit the auto-tune I nearly stopped it right then.

Welp time to listen to this possible piece of shit when I get home.
>Revolutionized Rock music
>Ahead of their time
>Making music that no other artist would dare to make
>Was able to get out of their comfort zone and experiment
These are all things that The Beatles DIDN'T do. That true geniuses like Captain Beefheart, Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, etc have done.
But some of those artist Will only be seen as pedestal for other genres and artist. While The Beatles will keep being seen as important "geniuses" and keep being #1 on every greatest bands of all time list.

what instrument/sound do you (typically) start with?
fast tempo you've used? also best 'odd meter' if you're in to that shit?

I have no idea but he's been doing the exact same thing since 2005 even on IMDB http://www.imdb.com/user/ur7059410/
He's not even self-aware about it.
But what has crept in is that everyone’s a commentator now. The Internet is giving voice to everybody thinking that someone gives a shit what they have to say and they have the right. I think, in general, that has created a toxic environment for artists and led to some very safe music. Artists are trying to make music to please the tastemakers that tell the sheep what to like. It’s a vicious cycle and I think it’s unhealthy. I don’t see any Princes emerging on the scene today. I see a lot of people making formulaic, made to please, vegan restaurant patron-type shit. And I think it creates an environment where people are too fuckin’ worried about what other people have to say. And people who have never made anything think it’s OK to talk shit about stuff they have no right to talk about. You got a Facebook account? Nobody gives a fuck. You haven’t achieved anything.
_ Trent on recent interview
Is he right?
I get his point but the backlash to this exact phenomena has created some really interesting stuff too
I think this just high lights Trent‘s still existing insecurity more than anything else. He may say he doesn't care but this shows that he still pays too much attention to it.
>>70288459
I think druing Hesitation Marks he says that he refuses to pay any attention to any reviews, but then he got really kind of mad and probably sad over people's first perception of "Everything", he even commented upon fan-made videos, saying he turned it off as quickl as he could
I think he was reffering to this.

Burial literally invented his own style of drum beat rhythm and vocal electronic manipulation that you hear in tons of music today from edm like disclosure to mainstream pop and rap like drake.
Why don't more people recognize him for being so innovative and influential?
He re-purposed garage and 2 step, rhythmically he didn't blaze trails
It's always been more about how fucking evocative and atmospheric his stuff is

ids preddy gud :DD
something about the mixing is a bit overwhelming and not in a good way
but other than that, it's better than expected. I'm loving the sort of upbeat approach to their hazy sound
Lets get a "my favorite metal album" thread going my doods. My favorite of all time has to be "The Common Man's Collapse" by Veil Of Maya. Very underrated and solid as fuck. Great example of it's genre. Would highly recommend giving it a listen.
Shits a little too riffsalad for me
After The Burial's Rareforms is superior Sumeriancore, only the resissue though, the original production job was fucking awful, their original vocalist was even worse
>>70286542
Original? Do you mean the very first guy, or the one off this album?
