>when you create post-rock
>>70368281
Yeah, no.
>>70368281
It's no-wave
>>70368327
It's got a lot of characteristics of post rock though, wouldn't you say?
How do I get into Irish folk music? I've always admired it's sound but never actively listened to it. I'd prefer some older music, but I'd be fine with more modern albums too.
Hey! Start with Planxty's s/t
this is my MEGA folder filled with irish folk

Yes
Limp Bizkit is one of the greatest, most underrated bands of our time. Only edgy teenagers and nu-male 20/30 somethings dislike them.
Pitchfork Bruno Mars
Pitchfork Drake
Pitchfork Skrillex
gay Autechre
are these guys the Saviours of avant-teens?

Bumo
>>70367601
What are you into for starters?
I'm not a bass player (I'm into drums) but I like bass and I have a bass guitar. The first song I tried to learn was Jambi by Tool.
>>70368296
Like the kind of music I like?
I'm into Animal Collective, Boards of Canada, The Microphones, Death Grips, Swans, LCD Soundsystem, Sigur Rós, M83, The Avalanches, Oneohtrix Point Never, Neon Indian, Sweet Trip, Radiohead, The Knife, My Bloody Valentine, Have a Nice Life, The Chemical Brothers, Clark, Health, Nine Inch Nails, Run the Jewels, Flying Lotus, Crystal Castles, Daft Punk, DJ Shadow, Sufjan Stevens, Massive Attack, Xiu Xiu, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Harrison, Modest Mouse, Deerhunter, Ween, Moderat, Dan Deacon, Vampire Weekend, Arca, Actress, clipping. and Fuck Buttons.
Linkin Park are the only new band that has come out in the last fifteen years that can headline festivals - Vinnie Paul (Former Drummer of Pantera)
>it's true
Which is all the more tragic because they were a manufactured boyband built around late 90s cliches and also haven't been relevant since Bush's first term.
>>70367500
are you aware of Xero? Linkin Park were always a band that wasted to play music and get big
there's even a skit on the First Minority album where Shinoda tells how the record company wanted then to wear labcoats and cowboy hats on stage

>wasted
wanted

Fort Minor
so I've got an odd question/rant.
i started collecting recently. it's a fantastic experience and it can't be denied that it tops downloading mp3s by a mile. however, in my naiveté I thought that even despite living in NYC I'd be pulling out my favorite albums out of the stacks in record stores and pay about $5 to $15 for them.
well...nope. almost everything that's not classical/soul/funk/big band/swing/jazz is above $15 mark. Discogs is cool, but there's not a big (most likely none at all) difference price wise between their selection of used contemporary music and say, ebay or amazon. practically every new release of contemporary music is above $15, most of them are at $20 mark.
I wanted to snag a Massive Attack album, cheapest there is is $25, even used. Okay... Tycho, Radiohead, Talking Heads, DJ Shadow - $20+. Went to one NYC music store, saw an Iron Maiden record - $45. Is it made of gold? Jesus.
>tl;dr : do you have any tips to where to stack on contemporary music vinyl that doesn't breaks the bank?
I'd appreciate tips to save $.
>Or maybe I'm just dumb and I should've checked all that before I started collecting :')
cross the border and take advantage of the low canadian dollar
because it's outdated technology

>it's a fantastic experience and it can't be denied that it tops downloading mp3s by a mile.

terrible opinion
Everybody knows OP is right and if say otherwise, you're the kind of autist that likes boring pointless interludes to look more patrician.
We post Youtube videos, soundclouds etc. of /mu/ own music/covers.
Post your videos. Everyone listens to everyone elses.
We all get views, we all benefit together. we vote on the Best of 4chan Musicians :)

It is quite common now for there to be no threads in the catalog with this as the OP image. Even back in 2012 this was unthinkable. How does the death of the meme that defined this board for the first decade of its existence make you feel? Do you still listen to/ like this album?
> How does the death of the meme that defined this board for the first decade of its existence make you feel?
I don't know, at least people remember this album, does anybody does the same with Hospice for example?
> Do you still listen to/ like this album?
Yeah, both.
Been here since 2010 but been lurking must of the time. Quieted browsing this imageboard since 2011... But know this meme just don't remember the name of it. What's the name of the album by the way?
Cause I don't remember.
Is he really a "must know" artist for 2017?
