Madvillainy > RDJA > KOB > Spiderland
>>70460293
kind of hard to rank them OP, but i'll do it anyway
Spiderland > KOB > Madvillainy > RDJA
>>70460293
how do you even compare these
>>70460293
None of these have anything in common you autist
I made the Gorillaz 'Demon Days' cover out of unusable records.
no you didn't
This is not reddit
I guess they weren't unusable then after all.
Fuck Swans and fuck "Soundtracks for the Blind". I can't personally listen to anything associated with them. Anyway, this thread is for bad memories you have listening to albums/songs. Here's mine
>be me, 8
>older brother's friend always come over
>He has the best movies
>terminator, jurassic park, the matrix, etc
>older brother was always cool with letting me chill with them (In fact now I think of it, his friend encouraged it)
>they would always sneak some beers from our parents to drink
>they're passing joints and cigarettes around
>sometimes take a toke
>Brother's friend is a pretty avid vinyl collector. Always brings over records.
>One in particular is Soundtracks for the Blind by Swans
>Keep in mind that I only actually found out what the record was when I started browsing /mu/ when I was much older.
>He plays it quite frequently when he "sleeps over"
>sometimes they give me some beer
>always feel really drowsy as soon as I take a sip (I don't know if it was spiked)
>blackout regularly
>Fast forward 10+ years later
>at work
>This really fucking eerie sound/song is coming from the radio
>start going into a full panic attack, have no idea why
>sweaty, heavy breathing
>pass out
>everyone surrounds me, i'm on the floor
>"anon, what happened?"
>"just sick I guess"
>realize what happened to me as memories start flooding back
>here comes 20 years of therapy to escape this shit.
so yeah, FUCK SWANS.
Even if this story was real, what the hell is your problem? So you chilled with your older brother, what the fuck man.
>>70459914
Well it's a bit subtle cause I know people who post on /mu/ online. Basically he was molesting me and as far as I know, drugging me.
>>70459942
oh, are you sure? Anyways have a song to ease your pain,

>mfw I realised '60s and '70s music has aged better than most of that of the '80s
true
Most music from those decades has aged better than 90s and 00s music.
>>70459810
80's production was garbage, really don't know why
>>70459779
Really? Cause it's like a more boring version of Talk Talk, imo.
reminder out of all krautrock groups in the 70s Eno liked this one the most

Let's have a /blindfold/ tomorrow - I can host it if blindfoldguy doesn't.
I hope this isn't too much of a shameless plug but I could really need guidance on how to improve my shitty playing, here's Stella By Starlight.
https://clyp.it/iw5q0fdu
>>70461582
Stella is my all time favorite standard.
Your version is very good. Lots of nice Bill Evansy voice leading stuff. Maybe a little bit "busy" overall for my tastes... the only thing I'd really say is to not do so much sudden dynamic shift, the dynamic range is good, but make it more gradual and more meaningful when you want to play something loud. And maybe change up the voicing of the Em7b5 sometimes. Seems like you keep coming back to that same voicing
Why is no one talking about how good this is?
>>70459546
She's qt
>>70459803
shes really not, only in this cover
>>70459820
came here to say this. She is such a qt in this artwork tho, wish it was real.

What is it about downtempo that makes people on here so mad
>>70458677
Angry tweens want edgy shouty metal and rap. That's why only older mature people listen to it.
Nothing, I think it's been very well received here. Although maybe I have low standards for mu reactions.
>>70458677
Good album.
