What are you quoting?
I agree regardless of your base attempt at humour.
Australian here.
My country is a musical and cultural wasteland.
Thoughts on Annie Clark / St. Vincent, /mu/?
Do you prefer her edgy fart guitar albums (Strange Mercy and St. Vincent) or her more chill, less noisey albums (Actor and Marry Me)? How would you like LP5 to sound like?
>>70566974
I really like all of it honestly. I used to prefer Strange Mercy, but I'm in love with the material on Marry Me right now. "Human Racing" is ridiculously underrated.
No one does edgy fart guitar better than Annie.
In the Pitchfork interview about her movie she says that that song New York will probably be on her new album (and hopefully extended, kind of like how Pieta was longer than the live version) and while she doesn't answer the question of whether Sounwave and some other Kendrick collaborators will show up on her new album her answer seems to indicate that they will in some way.
>And during that performance, you played a gorgeous new ballad with the memorable line, “You’re the only motherfucker in the city who can stand me.” Will that song be on your upcoming album?
>Yeah. I think that song will definitely be released.
>You recently worked on a Rolling Stones cover with Kendrick Lamar collaborators Sounwave and Terrace Martin. Have you done anything with them for your new album too?
>Um... I... OK, I’m trying to figure out the things I can say without getting angry emails from management, like, “What are you doing?!” Yeah, there are… um… I don’t think I can say anything. I’m sorry! I’m so excited about it, though. I’ve never been more excited about anything.

Any time I go to a rock or metal video on YouTube, without fail the front page features some incredibe child taking cheap shots at top 40. But when I go to a top 40 video I don't see any of the same hostility.
Why are some rock fans so sad and insecure? Do they not enjoy their music, or something? I get the sense they only listen to this stuff as a fashion statement.
They are kids that listen to something not considered "hip" within the pop culture world. It's bound to happen. Goes away as one ages since the older one gets, the less they care about what is and isn't cool.
>>70566969
Does he mean pits as in armpits or as in a tiger pit or as in the emotional pits of the song on youtube?
>>70566984
>They are kids that listen to something not considered "hip" within the pop culture world.
That's insane. Rock has been part of the established mainstream for decades. It's a multi million dollar industry.

Going to listen to it right now, thanks
Cream is pretty good
I guess I'm making this thread just to discuss to path music is taking. What do you think is the general direction music is going nowadays, and what are your predictions about things that will be "In" in the recent future?
I feel soul, and funk are making a come back.
Hip Hop is starting to get a bit stale so it's going to need something like soul or funk revival to make it somewhat interesting again.
I anticipate TLoP and Awaken, My Love! are going to be indicators but I think the sound cloudsphere is too saturated with shitty generic copycat trap/hip hop for that to happen quickly.
>>70566171
>TLoP and Awaken, My Love!
This is exactly my thoughts. Of course Trap music will be around for a while, but Awaken, My Love! and even that dwarf Bruno will take all the grammys this year again, which will accelerate the shift towards funk and soul.
Do you think there will be changes in the EDM community?
>>70566126
Here's my prediction comparing to the trends of music throughout the years.
When a genre starts to get big, for example dubstep. It starts out nice and quiet, then as the years go on people get bored of this sound and try to make it louder and more complicated. But this loudness gets to a point where it becomes exhausting and people lose interest in it.
I believe we will see trap follow the same path. It's only going to get louder and louder, and it already has begun with a lot of main stream artists. Kanye, Tyler The Creator, Danny Brown, etc. And once this sound reaches this loudness peak people will get tired of it and it will repeat, but latch onto a new genre that the internet decides is popular.
Are they going to fall for the meme and have their big come back be an anti-Trump track?
>>70566070
It'll probably be like every song by them ever, about the Armenian genocide.
>>70566070
Yes, digits confirm this.
