Why is he such a joke?
Well, I'd say his 172 million album sales, 15 Grammys, Oscar, and reputation amongst other rappers that hail him as one of the greats beg to differ...
because his entire existence is a carefully crafted interscope product right back to his fuck you mom trailer trash beginnings
>>70688090
None of that makes him not a joke
Just started to marathon this. What am in for?
Never listened to swans before btw.

What is your opinion on sanding off the Squier logo off the guitar and replacing it with a Fender water decal? Have you ever done it before?
Gay. No. For what purpose?
Why? If you ever want to sell it it makes it kind of weird too.

why do people listen to noise?
It sounds cool
it's fun, loud and intense
and it's pretty good if you're walking somewhere or if you're on the train or whatever. if i'm listening to some softer music or something with lyrics that i really care about hearing it's just not ideal to do that on the run so i just stick to noise
it's meditative for me . I can really push out everything around me with a noisse track on.
Thoughts on the Meme Trilogy?

only two of those are "memes"
Newfag here who just discovered the /mu/ wiki and decided to listen through one of the lists of /mu/ essentials.
Do y'all genuinely enjoy this album, or is it all memes? Cause I can't figure out for the life of me why it's so highly rated, even though I did enjoy it.
>>70686457
It's really genuinely quite good, something that anyone can find something to like about. It doesn't hurt that the bandwagon meme is fun, too
>>70686501
This
>>70686501
Suppose that makes sense. If nothing else I enjoyed how it swings between the typical indie strumming and a more heavily distorted sound.
The lyrics are just a little too obtuse for my liking, though.
All popular music is for tweens.
Art = trad > popular
It's funny seeing people who are into "house" and "techno" get their panties in a twist as if those styles are any more legitimate than the so-called """EDM""" trap and big room styles.
It's all just a commercialized, manufactured product. Style over substance.
his includes rock/metal/punk, r&b/funk/soul, jazz, pop and hip hop.
Go spread the word in all threads my brother
Everything is manufactured and style over substance.
Even old school, first-wave supposedly subversive black metal
Even harsh noise
Everything

this is easily the edgiest, gayest, most Thoreau worishipping, Emerson cock sucking, thread I've seen on /mu/
>his favorite album of all time came out less than 3 years ago
>his favorite album of all time came out in the 21st century
>his favorite album of all time is under 30 minutes long
>his favorite album of all time is a double album

Dick Dale is a good start, I mean he is the king after all. The singles collection compilation from 2010 is pretty great. I'd say the two Dick Dale and the Del-Tones albums are worth listening too. His 90's comeback albums are underrated as fuck and you should check them out, or at least Tribal Thunder. I heard Dick isn't doing too well health wise lately, so best of wishes to him.

We live in the best timeline folks. I feel sorry for the people who live in the alternative universe where Hillary was elected and where RTJ3 was released in 2017.

GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM YOUR CIRCUITS DEAD THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG
Bitter and melancholic music.
Broke up with gf some days ago, today I am feeling particularly shitty. Recommend bitter music for a bitter Sunday.
Giles Corey is great for that mood. If you've already head the album, there's an EP called Hinterkaifeck that's pretty solid too.
I'd also recommend:
-Jar of Flies by Alice in Chains
-The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails
-Pain is Beauty by Chelsea Wolfe
>>70686076
Those sound nice, I've heard Jar of Flies and it suits. Gonna give the rest a listrn
Incredible album OP, one of the best ever made. I will recommend an obvious one but one I felt (other than other Modest Mouse) was a companion album. The millennium was unbelievable for indie rock.
