*teleports behind you*
nothin' personal, kid

God Only Knows may be the perfect pop song but damned of She Said, She Said doesn't come close.
Imo SGT Pepper is a heavyweight. No album has a better opener and closer.
The White Album has some of the best pop songs ever and Abbey Road is probably THE preeminent pop-rock record.

>>70817305
not really, it definitely break certain conventions of pop rock but my goodness taxman and doctor robert are basically early pleb-tier material

Grimes is dead, RIP sweet princess.
ITT post albums you think are underrated
>>70816922
People here with insecurity issues will tell you that this album is *not* overrated because they have their head shoved up their asses and live on the internet.
The reality is that this album is as good as or better than any Rolling Stones album, and yet hardly anyone knows who Television is.
>>70816954
>tfw came here to say it's not overrated
Is there in the world a metal band better than opeth?

Opeth juxtaposes the worst and the most annoying elements invented by art rock circles with MTV friendly death metal - this is as real as Cradle of Filth's corpsepaints, as artsy as late period Dali paintings and as progressive as John Williams soundtracks are for modern classical music.
But hold on, this is the leading band of progressive death metal. The "prog" part, like in any other cases, is for individuals too narrow minded to try something beyond death metal. As for the genre itself it may be a real gem, but what can we do when the whole genre has been eating its tail since it's been "invented"?
I'd rather stick to something raw, evil, underproduced, misanthropic and primitive, without art rock vocals, art rock solos, art rock production, art rock growlings, art rock tempo changes, art rock oriental riffs, art rock acustic intros and all this Death meets Porcupine Tree meets late Pink Floys meets late Metallica meets Tool meets Nightwish meets Clannad meets My Dying Bride meets Queensryche meets Paradise Lost shit.

What is the best service to discover new music based on the one you listened?
I just got into music a year ago and I feel like a total pleb. Someone lend me a hand
People shit on last.fm but it can still be useful to look at related artists. Going through lists and forum posts on artist pages on RYM also works pretty well. If you actually keep up with rating stuff (which I don't) RYM has a recommendation system. Spotify I think also has a recommendation system.
here
what did you just listen to?
Because my PC is dead atm i can't download new music so i just listenes to shit i already have on my phone.
I listened to in the wake of poseidon, wish you were here, lify yr skinny fists, kid a and the bends

Will punk or rock ever see a return?
> inb4 another "hurr durr, will punk rock ---?" thread
> tired of all these threads beating around this question
"Do you ever look at the sky and think, I'm glad I'm alive? After I heard Sum 41, I thought, I'm actually alive to hear the shittiest band of all time. Which is quite something when you think about it. Of all the bands that have gone before and all the bands that'll be in the future, I was around when the worst was around."
I"m sure we'll see a short burst of it here nowt hat Trump is president.
NOFX, Bad religion, and Green day are all going to put out some lame DRUMPF IS A NAZI records but I doubt they get popular despite media shilling for it.
THe problem is that most popular music is about having fun and Punk isn't fun anymore. Girls and fag normies just want shit they can get drunk and dance / dry hump each other to at parties.
