Can someone recommend me more stuff like pic-related, that's slow, noir-ish, (kinda) minimal jazz music? Is any of their other stuff like this?
Also, thanks a billion to the anon who recommended me this. It was the perfect soundtrack to walking around in the middle of the night, smoking a cigarette, with no light but the streetlights.

You might enjoy Ahmad Jamal - he's one of the more minimalist jazz musicians of that era. Like, I suspect that you'd like his rendition of Moonlight in Vermont: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fqq8A61KFg

That is quite nice. I like this a lot, but I was thinking of something on the darker side. Something that's more "oppressive" I guess. Something more sinister I guess, but not any kind of noisy improvisational free jazz type stuff. It still needs structure.
This was one of my favorite tracks from Sunset Mission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJXlZ6SjRI8
If you know any stuff like that, that'd be great (apologies if this is too specific)

Bohren's other albums are pretty sweet too, none of them are as noir tho, however gore motel is by far my favorite now. If i rember correctly when i made a thread like this, i got recc'd kilimanjaro dark jazz enssamble, and heroin and your veins
At the top of his Beatles page, this blurb is written:
>This old article by Piero Scaruffi has won several international awards as the most professional analysis of the career of pop group the Beatles ever written. While the interests of the author have long left popular music behind, the vast success of the article makes him believe it should continue to be posted here. Feel free to duplicate on your websites. For a list of his favorite music, the "essentials", click here (and then scroll down in that page for the best of rock music). And thank you for all the recognition.
And I was wondering,
>What awards is he talking about? Have they ever surfaced? Or is he lying about them? I didn't even know articles existed for such things
>How can he seriously say that his interests have long left popular music behind when he very recently wrote a review of the latest Beyonce album?
he's full of shit
the mu award for best troll and shitposter
I've always been confused about his ratings, is 6/10 and 7/10 bad to him? Since he never makes it clear

The prolific James Ferraro later released lots of alien ambient music, for example Clear (Holy Mountain, 2008), Discovery (Holy Mountain, 2008), Multitopia (Holy Mountain, 2008), On Air (Underwater Peoples, 2009), Last American Hero (Olde English Spelling Bee, 2010). However, he soon turned to crafting bizarre parodies of fashionable styles of past decades on Far Side Virtual (Hippos In Tanks, 2011) and Night Dolls With Hairspray (Olde English Spelling Bee, 2011), like Frank Zappa at his most irreverent. ,/10
Blunt formed Babyfather with some DJs and released a concept about a pirate radio DJ, BBF Hosted by DJ Escrow (2016), an album of "protest music" that is a series of political raps/rants over old-fashioned downtempo dance-music; basically, one long pretentious tedious substandard Pop Group and Massive Attack act, and sometimes a parody of hip hop (Greezebloc). There are cute moments like the reggae singalong Meditation feat Arca and the Middle Eastern disco-music N.A.Z, and, best of all, a miniature electronic polka, Platinum Cookies, but hardly anything that any kid in a garage cannot compose. In more inspired hands the grave tone of Deep, Shook, Killuminati (with disorienting metallic and telephone sounds) and especially Motivation (its noisy soundscape) could trigger the birth of noir hip-hop music. 4/10
R Plus Seven (Warp, 2013) is too amateurish to be taken seriously. The brooding requiem-like Boring Angel is mildly entertaining (but hardly revolutionary) and most of the rest is either trivial (like the ambient and pop fusion of Problem Areas, or the noisy drone of Chrome Country) or chaotic (Zebra). 5/10
[...] The limit of this highly creative music, again, is that it is so fragmented (even within each song). There is a chronic inability to reach closure, but then, maybe, this is precisely Arca's point. 7/10

ukulele and air drums nigga
I wanted to get a guitar when I was 9 but my parents said I probably wouldn't be committed. A couple months later they bought me a $20 souvenir ukulele and told me to learn a song on it if I wanted a guitar. One of the cheap plastic strings broke and they told me I would never be responsible enough to own a guitar. As a result, I do not play any instruments.
