Poseurs are too lazy to actually explore genres so they really like it when people pick out their favorites and put it in a convenient LP format for them to "listen"
>pick bad poorly-recorded music from a poor non-white countries, preferably something "groovy" or "esoteric"
Poseurs like this because it give them cred among their poseur circles such as RYM and /daily/
>Give it a colorful cover, preferably with a minority juking and jiving on it like pic related
All of this will help make their chart look good and better than everyone elses
And voilà! There you have it! The ultimate poseur bait! Please feel free to say anything if I'm missing any important steps.
I FUCKING LOVE ED SHEERAN & COLDPLAY
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>70849555
And you know what's the sad part about it? People who listen to those artists are more authentic and sincere than the people who listen to this shite!
>>70849508

Do you think people copied Eddie Vedders voice?

2) Elbow - Little Fictions (just enjoying the overall groof/feel of the album, get's me going)
3) Run the jewels - Run the jewels 3 (fookin legends mate)
What are you guys looking forward to in 2017? I'm ready as fuck for a new father john misty album. also new Dirty Projectors stuff is sounding promising. also new lcd soundsystem when?

Also ready for the onslaught from
King Gizz this year
1) Ty Segal - Ty segal
2) RTJ - Run The Jewels 3
3) Code Orange - Forever

DEVILISH
personally havent heard anything from 2017 yet but im keeping my radar open
Looking to expand my collection of music from cults, fringe religious groups and other such organizations/individuals. Here's what I've got, hope you enjoy this stuff. Its weird.
Church Universal and Triumphant/ Elizabeth Claire Prophet (pic related): there is a TON of this stuff on youtube.
https://youtu.be/Y6LqZOfnngg
People's Temple Choir: This is the infamous Jonestown cult, led by Jim Jones, who moved to Guyana, murdered a congressmen and committed mass suicide by poisoned kool-aid.
https://youtu.be/sVdAgfLxCus?list=PLF47145DB14320567
Charles Manson- The Family Jams. I'm assuming most of you guys have heard this stuff. He also has lots of solo work.
https://youtu.be/NAHsYjJJpM0?list=PLBEF308CEACEEEA7A
Polyphonic Spree: Might be a cult, maybe. They dress like a cult anyway.
https://youtu.be/SG_wW7IxCOw
Insane Clown Posse: the FBI says its a gang anyway.
Thought I recognized that first track from somewhere.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvemCHFLusU
Also, not music, but have you heard the Jonestown tape? Probably the most unnerving thing I've ever heard.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_s-kF3vMWc
>>70849457
I had not heard either of these, thanks! I like Body Empty Hearth, I mean it wouldn't be much without the CU&T sample, but it's still a really nice use of sampling.
And I'd certainly welcome more "not"-music, such as audio recordings or video of cults.
>>70849335
hate to self bump, but I thought of one more recording
Moreschi, the last Castrato. A tradition in certain parts of catholic europe where boys would be castrated to preserve their soprano voice. The practice fell into public distaste and the pope banned the practice, offering all castratos to join the Sistine Chapel Choir and live out their life in peace in Vatican City.

Why is this board so defensive about the most surface level punk rock being good? Every other genre it's encouraged to get into the weird fringes of but with punk the Sex Pistols are as far you need to go according to you retards
Punk is trash. Just listen to post-punk instead.
>>70849536
this is even worse
But punk is pretty shallow and is best summed up by the Sex Pistols. Punk is more of an event than a genre, 1977 happened and the stale musical landscape was rewritten but any good punk with lasting appeal was more than basic punk
>>70849137
So....what's the problem here?
Metal is shit though.
>>70849137
Is this supposed to be a bad thing, Pablo?
What good stuff has come out recenrly? I really enjoyed this album.
>>70849135
Fuck off, /metal/ is an unbrowsable shithole
niggerdevil for starters
Check out Forsaken Vulture too

Are there women who like Swans that aren't those weird goth slut/lesbian types?
>>70848833
Probably not, that's their main demographic
>>70848833
Probably
Anything like this?
you might enjoy what is on this chart, friendo
>>70848894
nu-males don't listen to metal ya silly billy
especially not atmospheric black metal. It's too much for their little beta minds
>>70848894
Are you the one guy on this thread that shares this stupid chart every time someone posts an album you don't like? Plus Street Sects isn't metal.
Divers was a weak album and she will never top Have One On Me, a literal magnum opus that cemented her legacy.
I mean, nothing has come close to HOOM. Art Angels tried, and failed, terribly, horribly, awfully. And Divers was about as weak an album that a woman can possibly put out. Just weak. Weak weak weak. Weak.
Ys is her masterpiece though.
Divers was still pretty good. Nowhere near HOOM or Ys, but still pretty good.
>>70848827
This.
Divers isn't on the same level but it doesn't need to be. It has its own incisive them & tone and fits in well with her discography. I don't understand why everyone here needs everything to be GOAT#1AOTD all the time.
Similar Artists?
Tomahawk.
>>70848723
Check out all of Mike Patton's other projects. Tomahawk is okay, not too into it. I really like Mike Patton's Mondo Cane and Fantomas.
Other non-Patton projects to check out: Melt Banana, Shellac, NoMeansNo are more on the noise/math rock angle. If you like memes maybe Neil Ciecerega.
>>70848723
when you consider the shit that was on california, there really is no other band that compares remotely
