It clicked on my first listen. It's a really easy album to listen to. It's not like harsh noise or anything.

for some reason this album really gives me a sense of the afterlife, or at least a sense of your life flashing before your eyes as you die. it's seemingly spasmatic but still composed, you get glimpses of a pathway or a direction but are not sure about the destination. it truly is a series of moments that give meaning to the next one. the album art gives me that feeling too.

I don't know why I thought this but for a long time I thought Aphex Twin and Clint Mansell were the same person and he used different names for when he made movie soundtracks or albums.
>>
>>70878736
Nah, Clint was in PWEI

Why is this album so well-respected here
Production is alright, but it's just a basic pop rap album like many other US artist could do

Also lyrics are pretty poor
>Tell 'em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass
More specifically, they can kiss my ass-hole
I'm an asshole? You niggas got jokes

>I don't need your pussy, bitch I'm on my own dick

Whats the point

Can someone please explain why this album, the pinnacle of modern pop, was panned by all the fuckboys on /mu/?

its just worse than their previous albums, simple as that. too many fart noises and weird geo samples, also them singing back and forth was too gimmicky, and distracts from the melodies and lyrics

disagree on the sounds/production but yeah the second half of your post is correct. the melodies just aren't as good. they overuse the back and forth thing, and it's not even impressive vocal acrobatics like some people say. a lot of it is literally just a delay effect that panda used on pbmtgr. i actually really liked the samples, beats, synths, etc on this album though. it's not terrible, especially when compared to mpp. put it alongside spirit, sung tongs, feels, and it doesn't even look like they're trying to make a great, ambitious album, but mpp wasn't that type of album either. it just had great pop tunes and some big moments unlike painting with.

And fuck Ann Coulter with a Klan poster
With a lamp post, door handle, shutter
A damn bolt cutter, a sandal, a can opener, a candle, rubber
Piano, a flannel, sucker, some hand soap, butter
A banjo and manhole cover
Hand over the mouth and nose smother
Trample ran over the tramp with the Land Rover
The band, the Lambo, Hummer and Road Runner
Go ham donut, or go Rambo, gotta make an example of her
That's for Sandra Bland, ho, and Philando

How difficult would it be to start a reissue record label?
There are tons of albums that I'd love to buy on vinyl, but they are either sold out, too expensive or were never even available on vinyl. I'm sure there are many people like me.
Are artists and their former labels usually easy to persuade? What percentage of the cut do they usually demand? How difficult is it to get online record stores to sell my reissue and what do they demand in exchange? What other legalities should I take into consideration?
The cost of the vinyl pressing itself isn't that high, I've checked. I have around 3k euros to spare and it almost seems to me like it should be feasible. Tell me why it isn't.

Some examples of what kind of records I'd be reissuing:

It would be such a shitshow to arrange, that it wouldn't be possible. Best you could do is contact the people who own the rights to the music to show them there is interest in a reissue.
>>
Sorry, I don't think it's realistic. Pressing just 100 copies of a record on vinyl costs at least 900 euros.

That gives you 2k to license the album from the label that currently owns it AND to pay the rights to the artist. Probably not gonna happen. And with those albums you listed, it's probably so difficult to figure out who exactly owns everything.

Even if you somehow miraculously did all of the above, would it have even been worth it just to have a few obscure albums you want on vinyl?
>>
for starters Tommy Wright III is on facebook so you could easily message him and see what he thinks.
