What type of metal would the new DOOM soundtrack be? I'm not familiar with metal subgenres.

Guru Guru - UFO
DIIV - Is The Is Are
>>70936965
on a technical level yeah, but as a "guitar album" i'd probably go with Daydream Nation
What makes you say if an ambient track is good or not? Like what makes one good? When I listen to ambient I feel indifferent about it, I don't mind it but I don't like it either..

That's so fucking bad. Why is commercial music so bad? Except that one commercial with Daniel Johnston's music in it
Due to their inability to feel empathy, can people with autism truly appreciate music? Do they only listen to brostep? Even Aphex Twin might be too much for them.
I was thinking this but it's too organic, it needs to be rigid and emotionless. Maybe Kraftwerk?
>>70936463
I worked with a few autistic kids in my job (a work in a school). They most are likely to appreciate big souds, like orchestras. But, each person is gonna be different, normally depends on what their parents are listening
>>70936463
Is that you to the left OP, because you talk like it
Give me your absolute saddest, most soul-crushing, depressing music you got. I have some feels boys.

also they're cool and pitchfork approved now, so you nu-males can pretend to like it!
Can we finally agree what his best album is?
It's Yeezus
It's funny how my favorite Kanye albums are his most hated ones (Yeezus and 808s)
At so many points in this album, the music breaks into this melody, and it’s glorious — I mean, glorious. He has to know that — why else would you do that? He’s not just banging his head against the wall, but he acts as though he is. He doesn’t want to seem precious, he wants to keep his cred.
And sometimes it’s like a synth orchestra. I’ve never heard anything like it — I’ve heard people try to do it but no way, it just comes out tacky. Kanye is there. It’s like his video for “Runaway,” with the ballet dancers — it was like, look out, this guy is making connections. You could bring one into the other — ballet into hip-hop — they’re not actually contradictory, and he knew that, he could see it immediately. He obviously can hear that all styles are the same, somewhere deep in their heart, there’s a connection. It’s all the same shit, it’s all music — that’s what makes him great. If you like sound, listen to what he’s giving you. Majestic and inspiring.
Very often, he’ll have this very monotonous section going and then, suddenly —“BAP! BAP! BAP! BAP!” — he disrupts the whole thing and we’re on to something new that’s absolutely incredible. That’s architecture, that’s structure — this guy is seriously smart. He keeps unbalancing you. He’ll pile on all this sound and then suddenly pull it away, all the way to complete silence, and then there’s a scream or a beautiful melody, right there in your face. That’s what I call a sucker punch.
He seems to have insinuated in a recent New York Times interview that My Beautiful Dark, Twisted Fantasy was to make up for stupid shit he’d done. And now, with this album, it’s “Now that you like me, I’m going to make you unlike me.”
Who's the buzz? I recognize Har Mar Superstar but what do all the kiddos like

Yeah I went through the whole thing a week or two ago and last year's absolutely blew it away. A lot of stuff usually gets added right before it though so here's to hoping.
A lot of people here went crazy for Anna Merediths album last year. I thought it was just ok but I'll check her out if I can.
Carpenter Brut seems to have some fans here but I've never checked it out.
I'm a fan of the new Cherry Glazerr album so I'll definitely see them if I can. If you haven't heard them check out their videos. She's pretty sexy.

I feel like a good cover version can take a song to a new place and sometimes surpass the original.
What are your favorite covers?
I love Primal Scream's cover of Slip Inside this House. The 13th Floor elevators original is an acid freakout track and Primal Scream seamlessly shifted it into a dark opiate tinged dancefloor filler.

didn't I see this posted in a thread about worst covers?
what do you like about this version?
>>70936098
This is fucking horrendous
Haven't seen this album being talked about even once. What do you think about it?
I think you're new.
It's the NLDW of Godspped's discography.
It's still a solid album but really sticks out as different (not in a good way) than their other albums. Feels like a few ideas stretched too far into a new type of songwriting (developed instead of vignette-based, which they would do much more successfully with Allelujah)
Contrarians will say it's a hidden gem.
>>70935956
I love it as much as I loved NLDW, it's just that I see a lot of people talking about LYSFLATH and FA ∞ that it made me question how much of them have listened to this one.
Personally, I find it really enjoyable, although it may be hard to get into it in one listen.
