I have two questions for you, /mu/:
1) Do you like Burzum?
2) Do you agree with Varg's political views?

>greatest post-hardcore album of all time
It's a decent album, but if you genuinely think its the best, you don't know anything about post-hardcore.

Sun Kil Moon - Common as Light and Love are Red Valleys of Blood
Album streams tomorrow on Sun Kil Moon dot com.
Cool, although after hearing those snippets most of my hype has been killed. :( sounds like it's gonna be even more rambly than UT or the Jesu collab.

Death Grips are talented though, they make actually layered instrumentals, not just farty synths over basic fruity loop beats.
What album should I listen to first to help me get into Portugal the Man?
>>71018534
I started off with Satanic Satanist, I think that was a pretty good place.
This is kind of a tough question though because their music style changes so much.
e.g. Waiter: You Vultures! was kind of hardcore
Church Mouth and Censored Colors are more southern rock
Satanic Satanist is progressive rock I guess?
American Ghetto is experimental
In the Mountain In the Clouds is indie rock
Evil Friends is kinda pop punk
Their next one coming out is supposed to be hip hop influenced
>>71018534
the satanic satanist
>>71018793
Also - Satanic Satanist has a sister album called the Majestic Majesty. It's basically the same exact album, but done entirely on acoustic, which is pretty interesting to listen to side-by-side with SS
My ranking of their albums is:
Censored Colors > Church Mouth > Satanic Satanist > Waiter > Evil Friends > American Ghetto > In the Mountain
I feel like censored colors is pretty widely accepted as one of their best albums, but I'm sure people would argue with me about the rest. It mostly depends on what your music taste is I guess

u2 > radiohead
I agree; it's close, though.
U2's run of albums from Boy to Unforgettable Fire is highly underrated. Radiohead is overrated in general. I mean, they're not bad, but they're *very* highly-rated.
>>71018420
Joshua Tree is straight after Unforgettable Fire isn't it? That run is straight fire.
I'm starting to like new Radiohead tho. TKOL and AMSP are pretty decent. They're getting into a good rhythmic Krautrock vein.
>>71018259
I actually agree with this. But Radiohead still releases quality music. U2 hasn't made a good album in quite some time. Both are amazing to see live. And personality I think U2 has the better show. But again I only want to hear stuff from the 80s and 90s and just a few songs after that. Radiohead on the other hand, I want to hear all most everything in their catalog. The problem is that U2 has been shadowed by Bono and shit like south park. And as much as I love them Radiohead is overrated and has a shit fan base. Sadly you will never have a serious discussion about those two bands.
