I HAVE SUCH BAD WRITERS BLOCK SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE

Alternate turnings (assuming you're a guitarist)
Write in a different state of mind or atmosphere (instead of sitting on a chain during the day, do it lying on your bed at night).
Just press record and improvise for 20 minutes you will think there is nothing of worth, but listen to your recording a few times and use your imagination, you may find potentially good ideas in there.
Write on a different instrument

Listen too dance music like new order, or just fast past music in genaral, gets the brain moving

Stop having writers block.
You're welcome.
The Cramps
The Makeup
Built to Spill
You ain't no punk you punk
- what are your favorite under-rated bands?
I fucking LOVE the Cramps, and Built to Spill. But also, King Khan and the BBQ Show.
i don't think built to spill is underrated, they had two really great albums and a couple good songs sprinkled throughout the rest of their discography, they get the praise they deserve.
>>71065693
jamming king khan right now and was about to post this.
The Wolfgang Press
Dif Juz
Curve
Xeno & Oaklander

>You see my work as personal, but it is anything but that. It has very little to do with me, and that is why it is and will remain intriguing. Through it you will sense my shadow, but never myself.
> In contrast look at say Ninja Tune for example. All of their work drips with earnestness and tries to be quirky or have "personality". A radical mistake that ensures no one will care about it in the future - the exposed truth of personalities is so completely boring.

Was he right about Ninja Tune, /mu/?
Nah. Ninja is a very hit or miss label. Yes it has herbalizer and amon tobin and shit, people who are tryhards, but he's forgetting artists on the label like Machinedrum who just do whatever the hell they like
>>71065673
>Machinedrum
But he joined rather recently, didn't he? The interview's from 2004.
Has there been a big difference in the label between then and now, though?
Ninja Tune and Mo Wax were my favourite non-dance labels in the 90s and both were crucial trendsetters for alternative hip hop and downtempo providing platforms for some of my favourite artists and many of the era they wouldn't have found elsewhere.
I think they were a crucial part of the non-dance music in the decade along with Warp and while I'm not a fan of the type of music they champion now, they were awesome back in the day.
damn this is good
fuck gybe
>>71065423
The first 3 GYBE releases are better
>>71066290
no, they are not
not even comparable
I plan to listen to this. Is it a type of album where you don't have to listen to it all at once and can even shuffle it? It's just a compilation of experimental shit they did isnt it?

ITT: Your favorite albums when you were 10
I had better taste when I was 10
Interesting thing is when I was 10 it was 2003. At that time I was so disappointed in the state of modern music that I stopped checking for new releases altogether and only listened to the disco stations (hey kids, remember those?). It wasn't until 2009 when I started checking for new music again. Not that I didn't listen to new music in between but it would always be my brother tuning me into the newest release he was listening to.
What does /mu/ think of bands like Streetlight Manifesto, Reel Big Fish, or Catch 22?
I love 1 and 3.
Never really listened to 2
SO HERE I AM
Love it.

Why does /mu/ hate Money?
>there are people discussing communism in another thread
Of course, why don't we
Ruins the flow of the entire album.
Money was the best song on the album tho, no contrarian
What is your music player of choice on PC? Does it matter to you? Is any of this relevant to life? Am I just wasting my life?
Thoughts?
