>want to start a band
>no friends
>everyone who already has a band already has a group around them, and I'd just be the 5th wheel
>plus everyone only plays shitty indie music
What am I supposed to do?
Just pirate FL Studio and do all the music yourself.
Same here, I drifted away from everyone after highschool and ruined my life. All I want is to jam, but the world is so cold and empty. I'm starting to realize the truth is Jesus Christ and at least I have a friend in him

Shitposting or not there is alot of truth in this
>>71117936
better start cranking out some shit indie albums until you have enough skill to make something good or money to pay people to help you
What is the highest goal of music?
>>71117931
being in a sick ass band
Stop trying to make me gay

Are you a girl, or is it because my pic was born a man?
Now I'm not really quick to judge things, so don't act like I'm hating. I'm willing to read what you have to say as long as your not shit posting. But from what I've seen, I first saw that this album was seen as a "masterpiece" by all the normies, and when I listened to it end to end, I was like "this is probably hated by all those hipsters and patrician fags on /my/, I mean, it's so.....Poppy". But then I come to find out it's the most celebrated album on here, right next to in the aeroplane. Is there some ingenious thread of artistic irony I'm not picking up? I'm genuinely curious on what makes this thing the most unanimously praised album to ever hit the shelves. Just sounds decent to me, not great. Explain.

OP here, */mu/

fantastic production
kanye at his lyrical best
>>71117854
Im not that great of a music reviewer but songs like runaway, blame game, POWER or Gorgeous all touch on different subjects, with strong lyrics. Those songs are also all completely different, musically speaking.
His rapping is top notch, featuring decent guest artists.
It's also completely different from 808, which in turn was completely different from his last albums.
Kanye is a allround producer and he shows it.
Im sure some other anons are much better in articulating their thoughts.
Whats the point of the tracks being so fucking short? This could be easily a 9/10 album maybe even a masterpiece
idk i like it anyway though.
>>71117837
People consider Double Nickels on the Dime a masterpiece and the tracks on that album are 1-2 minutes long.
>>71117962
I think he's complaining more of the fact that the album itself is the length of an EP. It's only 14 minutes long.
>twiceshitter can't even do the OP right

I was listening to Kid A one miserable day and read an interpretation for How to Disappear Completely while it was playing which said it was about out of body experiences and pretending you're somewhere else to deal with something traumatic that might be happening right now. It used the example of a child being abused who might shut down and pretend they're elsewhere in order to pass the moment. I have siblings who were sexually abused and when it got to the climax I thought of them and just fucking lost it.
I was also stoned at the time so take that as you will.

what does /metal/ think of the most underrated sabbath album?
Could someone please rec me something like Candy Says or Pale Blue Eyes?
Try this album out. It has a lot of the same melancholy feel Candy Says does (they even covered the song on one occasion), especially the ending track.
It's called I Am A Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons.

Sorry I forgot the pic.
Just listen to VU.
Has System Blower ever actually blown a system?
Yes. I played it at my grandad's funeral for a meme and needless to say, that system blew and I got in a lot of trouble.
Has The Fever ever actually induced a fever?
Has Get Got ever got someone get?

Limp Bizkit - Significant Other
Anyone here seriously trying to pursue a career in the music industry? Let's talk about it. What are you doing now? What are you planning on doing in the future? Hopes? Dreams? Fears?
I'll start off by saying that I'm in a band now. We're trying to play as much as possible to build a fanbase. Landed a pretty big gig opening up for Modest Mouse, Maroon 5, Macklemore, Foo Fighters, and Tom Petty. Hoping that that show gives a little momentum.
wow name dropping nice also blog m8

blog?
You'd be stupid to pursue a serious career in guitar music unless you had shitloads of cash to pump in and fall back on afterwards.
At least IMO anyway.
Yoongi
Is Omarion the ultimate pop star?
He has excelled at every single level.
He was a child star and the frontman of very successful boy band (B2K).
Then he went solo and became one of the big early 2000s R&B singers along with guys like Usher, R Kelly, Ne-Yo, and Mario. During this time he dropped classic songs like Ice Box.
Now he's managed to maintain his relevance by becoming a part of the modern pop R&B circle (alongside Chris Brown, Trey Songz, August Alsina, etc), had a huge hit a couple years ago that still plays regularly on the radio and at clubs and spawned a meme lyric, and he's still going strong.
No one's done it better than O.
