The reaction to "Doris" and this album in general is a key example of why deathcore fans are the worst type of fans within the metal community.
> deathcore band releases stylistically different album to the past 5
> fans angry and butt hurt that its not the same as the past 5
> "CLEAN VOX WTF IS THAT CRAP!?"
In its self, this is undeniably a fairly good album.
>>71300173
that song is hilariously awful and so is deathcore in general
don't front
>>71300173
> caring about deathcore
> in 2017
go back to metalsucks
>>71300205
I agree that Deathcore is awful but I feel like Doris is just something that is popular to hate as of right now despite the fact that it's not all that bad, there are many a worse songs being released at the moment.
Who are band members of famous bands whos ability was far in excess of the other people in the band?
Jimmy Chamberland of the Smashing Pumpkins is more like one of the greatest drummers of all time but was in a grunge band where musical proficiency was set really low by the other people in the band. He has insane technique, groove and feel and seems to be a guy that is one of those dudes that people really into the instrument know about but no one else. I think he's up there with Gene Krupa.
Reni of the Stone Roses is very similar in how much he stood out in the Stone Roses and had pretty amazing abilities. He's a little more raucous and rock than Chamberland but is kind of jazzy/groovy with tons of technique too.
I think the 2nd Stone Roses album was shit because Renis drumming is really what made that band special on the first album, and on the 2nd he was wacked out of his mind on drugs which made the album feel really flat and boring compared to the first one. Kind of like a better Keith Moon.

Flea in RHCP
>>71300071
Flea is not an exceptional musician. He's no better in proficiency than Fruciante or Navarro, Novarro was probably the most proficient member of that band. In terms of musicianship, they are ok, nothing great. People think flea is amazing because of hype, bass nerds that are real deep into it will tell you otherwise.

Have you ever adjusted your musical taste to appease her?
no my musical taste is an obstacle for any potential romantic partner to overcome. If she doesn't love merzbow pulse demon on first listen its an instantaneous drop
Not really.
My girlfriend knows and accepts my taste.
Although, lately, I tend to only show her songs I think she'll like.

>>71299908
>this is a pretty long roast of mark kozelek
It's honestly not. The review is actually much more positive than the score suggests.
Yeah pitchfork doesn't seem to get over their petty grudges with him, but it could be a lot worse.
