A Love Supreme, ultimately, though both are great. I listened to Kind of Blue for the first time a few days ago and tried to nitpick at it and convince myself I disliked it but no, it's honestly a solid record, deserving of all its acclaim.

The music sounds garbage... half of the time it's just him talking or noodling one note as if it's somehow out of the box. Why be a musician if it doesn't sound good? If you want to deliver social commentary then be a fucking stand up poet, not a musician.

A quality violin should be constructed out of quality wood with a beautiful grain and color, so not the plasticy yellow kind. That's about all i know op.

For what it's worth, I learned on a super sketchy cheap violin, it doesn't matter if it's your first one. You're going to sound like absolute garbage on any violin you can buy, if you've never played before.

Buy a cheap one. Although most teachers recommend buying a decent one to start... you don't need to.
Also, you'll probably need to pay for a teacher if you don't have a good ear, etc.
