ITT: Post albums that are literally you
For me, it's Trout Mask Replica. Intelligent, nihilistic, and with a wicked sense of humor.
ITT: God Tier Drones Albums
William Basinski - Disintegration Loops
/mu/ is a pleb core nest. No drone knowledge here
the disintegaekwad loops
>>71293320
Basinski is a hack, you pleb.
What's the verdict?
meh, had a few good tunes
better than master of puppets, ride the lightning & justice for all but worse than load
really underrated. Better than shitty (re)loaded and obviously st anger. All Nightmare Long, Cyanide, and Suicide and Redemption are all great songs.
Post band logos that look like a 3 year old's scribbles or a prickly bush and are almost unreadable
>>71292913
Wow, that logo sucks, what band is it?
>>71292913
related
>vocoders
For me
>random harmonica solo
>>71292771
Same here, like a lot of stuff with vocoders

Thoughts on Alice Glass?
>>71292564
hey i have that sweatshirt
2 of them actually
fucking weird
>>71292564
She's pretty, and good at shout-poetry. Bad at actual singing.
I think she sort of has musical talent when she's paired with a good producer. Even though Ethan was the actual backbone of CC, it will never be the same (or as good, probably) with her gone.

enjoy ur ban
Do any of you listen to sad music when you're not feeling sad, or happy music when you're not feeling happy?
I've been on an upswing lately, and in a way it's inconvenient because some artists I'm really interested in (like Sparklehorse and Sun Kil Moon) make really sad music, which often doesn't "click" if you're not ready to embrace the mood.
How do you guys feel about this?
>>71291713
i don't consider sun kil moon sad.
but yeah i listen to anything sad or happy regardless of my mood.
>>71291788
Really? Ghosts and Benji are melancholy, not quite sure about the rest.
thx asshole now i have to listen to municipality on repeat 57 times
Why did they choose the objectively worst song on the album as their first single? The only song that comes near it's awfulness is ''The Noisy Eater'' which also is complete shit.
>>71291491
Because Danny Brown + MF Doom = hype. Also Noisy Eater is good
>>71291491
Frankie Sinatra is OK in the context of the album.
The Noisy Eater is the only song I absolutely hate and want to skip every time. Its so terrible and pointless and inane and doesn't even have the decency to follow a breakfast-lunch-dinner verse format. It's just incomplete nonsense.
The album is still damn amazing imo. Just really am not into Noisy Eater.
Personally, I don't find a single flaw On Wildflower
One of the few perfect 10/10's if you ask me. AOTY 2016
Hahaha what's she doing in there?
>>71291468
kys phone poster
wow her career must have really fallen apart
>>71291468
enjoying a moment of silence
I felt like we needed a specific thread to discuss grimes' fashion and hairstyle during 2012.
What do you think?
>>71291184
What an ugly looking dude.
>witch
lolololllo y do people take her seriously?
>>71291251
DUDE I'M QUIRKY AND WEIRD IM UNIQUE LMAO
Why do you listen to sad music if you know it will make you sad? Why listen to angry music if it will piss you off? Why don't people exclusively listen to music that brings them positive emotions?
I listen to "negative" music, as well, yeah, but why do we do it? Why is there an appeal?
>>71291085
i made a video on this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr2htRNkyfA
Music doesn't really make me sad or angry or anyhing. Music I think is good pretty much always makes me happy
"thinking happy thoughts" doesn't make you happy, accepting reality and confronting it does
If he hated the music on MTV so much at the time, how would've he reacted to trap rap? Or music today in general?
>>71291028
probably would have loved some of it.
could see zappa liking how hip hop samples now
>>71291052
this
but i think he would have some shit to say about pc culture and stuff i'd love to have some modern day zappa social commentary. he obviously would be anti trump and think the whole thing was hilarious but i dont think he'd be super left either
>>71291074
>he obviously would be anti trump
zappa was a massive contrarian. youre retarded. he would have been trump all the way.
Am I a pleb of using logitech z313 speakers (50$)?
of course
>>71290936
I use even cheaper shit
>>71290936
I have those exact same speakers
They sound pretty good
This album was pretty good but I was expecting something a bit more out-there and not so conventional. Is Electric Ladyland any better in that regard?
>>71290904
Both albums after this have that little extra
>>71290904
In 1967 this was pretty "out there".
>>71290904
A lot more pleasant sounding phasing and filtered sounds ^
