hello newfren
I've almost completely grown out of Eminem's music at this point. By that, I mean that I find I rarely play Em anymore now that I'm in my mid-twenties (21). I find that a lot of his old music is simply cringeworthy and largely not meant to be played around any adult or they'll likely judge you and think you're an autist with childish taste or an actual serial killer. Try putting on The Marshall Mathers LP, The Slim Shady LP or Relapse without cringing once, good luck. It's pure shock value, immaturity (rape jokes galore), insecurity all wrapped into edgy packages for young children to gawk at.
The only album I can see myself listening to again is about half of The Eminem Show but now even that sounds dated as fuck, the beats are awful and his lyrics are bland and vapid. And as of late his music has aged very poorly and his new content is just pure shit. It's either a lame attempt at shock humor wrapped in a cringeworthy, unfunny, gross perspective from a middle aged man or some corny attempt at making a hit radio sell out pop single about how motivational he is for jocks who work out. So in my books, he's got one shot to release something interesting and mature for a 45 year old man and he can't rely on edgy punchlines about rape or shit jokes. Also, at least before he was half listenable because of his somewhat-good flow...this is just purile utter filth. Fuck the new Eminem and all the brainless dickriders. He hasn't made a good album in 25 years.

Did Elvis have as big of an impact on rock as people say he did? What's your take?
justin beiber before justin beiber
He was THE biggest celebrity in America. That was unheard of for rock n roll in the 50s.

It should've been the next logical step in the right direction for The Violent Femmes if they had any brains and weren't from Madison Wisconsin!

"satirical punk rock," "cowpunk," "new wave," "art punk," etc. etc.
the beginning of greatness
This is the best Green Day album. Zero filler and every song is good. Everything else since has been shit.
It's the only Green Day album I like
>>71375984
Agreed. Nimrod is okay but has way too many songs.
love this album
I am literally the only one I personally know that listens to Emerson Lake and Palmer. Karn Evil 9 will always be one of the best songs out there that nobody I know will ever know about.

Brain Salad Surgery was a number 2 bestselling album in the UK, and number 11 in the UK. It was a huge commercial hit, you fucking poseur.

"nobody I know will ever know about"... proofreading is a thing, Sir.
Why do niggers always whine they are discriminated at award shows?
Metal never wins awards either, dont see metal heads complaining.

Post records you have bought recently, express envy and disgust and so on.

Half of my newest haul. I also picked up some jazz, but it's nothing to cream over. Really enjoying Visions of a New World by Lonnie Liston though.
>>71375893
damn I really want that Young Prayer
it is the reissue?
>>71375911
Yeah, nabbed that and HCTI release at my local shop. Sounds great. If you're OP, I envy that Simon and Garf you got, been looking for that for a minute now.
What would you rate their Discography? What album should I start with? What album should I avoid, if there is one?
>>71375711
Avoid everything but Yoshimi, Soft Bulletin, and Clouds Taste Metallic. But those ones are actually excellent
>>71375711
New one isn't very good. Start with Soft bulletin. If you like the weird psychedelic stuff go forward chronologically if you prefer straightforward rock move backwards. Once you finish one way do the other.

I really want to like The Flaming Lips but I absolutely hate Wayne's voice. A shame too because the music is really nice.
What do?
