I used to really like rap, back as a kid, then i became metalhead for a while in middleschool and not so long ago i returned to rap, but mostly because it as making me aggressive ( i was listening to Waka flocka and rick ross, yeah) and it was helping to work out. I was also listening to it, cause it went nicely with the weed (asap rocky, Flatbush zombies, etc). Then, i was listening, more cause of the good lyrical content and just unique sound (kendrick lamar, kanye etc). But now, i just can't stand "serious" rap, because it's mostly based around thug life or some kind of stupid messages, which i just can't find serious or just good sounding. The only ones i could still listen are beastie boys or tyler the creator, because of the funny content.
My question is, how do people listen to the same rap songs over and over? Even when i was more into rap, i still got tired of listening to the same songs, not like i do with normal music, like rnb, for instance. Do people feel the same, listening to rap, as they would to "normal" type of music?

Bossa Nova is another genre that aims to stimulate the same particular emotion evoked by the two songs you have posted. The album I'm fixated on right now has several songs in it that stimulate the emotion quite effectively. My favorite is at the 21:50 mark, guaranteed to milk a feeling.

Is We Will Become Silhouettes the best track?
Haven't heard that album in a long time, I always thought Natural Anthem was the best track but I think I'm in the minority there
My personal favorites are The District Sleeps Alone Tonight and Recycled Air but honestly every song on this is so good it's hard to decide which is the best

>The Nation Anthem
both are electronic instrumental tracks but Radiohead did it 3 years earlier

Why did Brian Eno sellout and start producing for generic corporate pop artists like Coldplay and U2?
I mean Coldplay at least were good at one point early in their career but had definitely sold out by that time (though they weren't quite as terrible as they are now). U2 is just irredeemable though.
