OP was clearly implying homosexual romance

Serious question. How does Tyler Joseph effortlessly write so many pop songs? Apparently he started writing songs when he was 17 years old and ,magically can sing and play the piano like someone that had been doing it for years. It doesn't make sense to me. Twenty One Pilots' first release the self titled album that came out in 2009 just 2 years after he supposedly started writing and playing music sold 115K copies and was a self release for fuck sake. That's more than some indie bands make with the help of their record labels buying reviews in Pitchfork and they sold that much without a freaking record label.

I'm guessing his whole background is fabricated or something.

This was he first album he made the year he started writing and creating music apparently.

https://soundcloud.com/ronnie907/sets/no-phun-intended

Now way someone make that good of an album in a year. It says that it was made in 1999, which would have made hi 10 years old and that obviously didn't happen. So he;s probably much older than what he says he is.

cus they all use the same fucking chords and scales?
>>
>>71479346

Could you elaborate more? That doesn't explain how he can sing so good in one year. Also I don't think they're all the same.
>>
>>71479451
lots of people can sing that good instantly, if youre born with it. i can sing every one of his songs just like him and i dont even sing lol.

What does /mu/ think of Ska?
19 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
The correct term is "power reggae"
>>
I like original 60s ska and the second wave of British "Two Tone" (Late 70s-early 80s British ska. Pic posted is a fine example) Early "Ska-Punk" like Mighty Mighty Bosstones is alright but as the 90s progress it becomes redundant shit.

Sup Kenny

Used to really love it in high school (even wore a bunch of checkered shit at one point...was stoked to see RBF / LTJ / and Streetlight) but I've sort of drifted away from it now. It's really been like seven years since I really listened to it heavy. I don't relate to it the way I once did and I don't dig into it and keep up with it the way I did...I sort of wore it out you know and listened to it so much I made it stale for myself. Plus, I might be out of the loop, but I don't see a lot of good ska coming out any more. Which isn't too important since you can just look at the old stuff and listen to it all day, but it feels like a dead scene now days. Again, I could be completely wrong since I've been out the loop, but this is just my take on it from an ex-rudeboi.

I'm not Dong but I'd figure you guys would still like to discuss album related stuff.
After the success of our 50-song Beatles cover album, we're continuing our David Bowie project!

Beatles album:
>https://mega.nz/#!ilcBALAS!uuHiWZe9pcZhgEu2E1Z3nhX4fkhYxJfAMvfOaxCAczE

After the clusterfuck that was the Beatles album, we are going to be using a different claiming method this time. Pick a song that you want to cover from the list below, and email me at [email protected] with a rough timescale for when you will be able to finish it. If you simply claim a song in the thread but don't email, it will be ignored. This is because dozens of people drifted into the Beatles claiming thread, claimed a song, and then vanished forever. When songs are finished, they should be sent via email, not posted in the thread. This keeps an element of mystery about the final product.

Submission rules can be found in the first reply

Last I heard was that the only unclaimed songs were Sweet Thing/ Candidate/ Sweet Thing Reprise.

Rules for submissions:

>IF YOU CAN'T SING, ASK SOMEONE ELSE IN THE THREAD TO! Really want to push for strong vocals throughout on this project, so don't feel like you have to sing on your track if you don't feel comfortable doing so. There are plenty of good singers on this board who can help you out.

>This is a fairly serious project, and there will be quality control. Harsh noise won't be accepted, because fuck that shit. Please don't make your covers memey, I know there were a few on the Beatles one like that but I want this one to be a bit more serious.

>Poor audio quality will be rejected. By that I mean something like heavy background fuzz, don't worry if your recording equipment is not professional standard. Just listen to the Beatles album for acceptable sound quality.
>Don't send me guerilla mail. I prefer if submissions are wav files but I don't mind converting them myself.

>It has to be an actual cover of the song, not just you saying "We can be heroes" into the mic once and then playing unrelated music you wrote yourself for 5 minutes. Reinterpretations are very welcome though, see Day Tripper or Paperback Writer from the Beatles album as examples.

>Collabs are also welcome, if you need someone to play bass or drums or whatever for you, just ask in the thread. People collaborated numerous times on the last album to great success.

Rap and hiphop a shit. SHIT!.jpg
72KB, 600x356px
Hip-hop and rap are nothing more than aggressive and yet monotone lyrics, set to simplistic beats and melodies. They take very little skill or hard work to create and are subsequently enjoyed by those with no appreciation of skill or hard work.

Also, hip-hop and rap tend to be something of a catalyst* for violent acts committed by these unintelligent, uninspired, unskilled and lazy people (mostly men). Ironically, were one to resort to violence in an attempt to remove said-problem (I can think of a few who'd be first to go), this would negate the argument, entirely. So, the rest of us just put up with hip-hop, rap and their followers.

There are so many wondrous things we've learned we can do with our voices, in unison, with other hard-working people who've been practicing until their fingers bleed, and there are STILL those who listen to people talking over a generic melody and beat? Don't you KNOW this?

*The most humorous thing about this post is, an overwhelming majority of those that DO defend hip-hop and rap, would have to head to Google or a dictionary to know what the word, "catalyst" means.

>tl;dr: rap and hip-hop are crap.

Is it possible to really appreciate jazz without playing it yourself?

No, you aren't allowed to listen to any kind of music unless you're a equally skilled player of all instrements.

So stupid. I think playing an instrument in general might make one more appreciative of the improvisation but many of the most prominent jazz critics don't even play an instrument at all
