Thoughts? I think it's a similar quality to GKMC
Can we have a slowcore general? /slow/ if you will. With the new interest (and memes) about Mark Kozelek, I hope some of that can spill into this wonderful genre.

Favorite album is probably The White Birch. Star Is Just a Sun (interestingly enough by a band also called The White Birch) is a favorite as well.
Listened to Carissa's Wierd's Songs About Leaving for the first time in forever and I forgot how good it was.
Hard to name a favorite group, maybe Duster because both of their albums (and Valium Aggelein) are top-notch.
I think we could see a small rebirth if the "gloomcore" sound catches onto more bands. Groups like Ambersmoke, and a lot of the Enemies List/Flenser bands incorporate slowcore elements into depressive shoegaze, usually with good results.
Been bumping the new Planning For Burial of course. I'd say it's better than Desideratum (more consistent) but still doesn't have the magic of Leaving.
>Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys developed a fervent obsession with the song,[17] leading Spector to quip: "I'd like to have a nickel for every joint he smoked trying to figure out how I got the 'Be My Baby' sound."[18] Wilson told The New York Times in 2013 that he has listened to the song more than 1,000 times.[13] Wilson explains his reaction to hearing the record for the first time:
>I was in my car with my girlfriend and we were driving around... When all of a sudden this guy Wink Martindale—a disc jockey—he goes, "All right! Here we go with 'Be My Baby' by the Ronettes." It started playing … All of a sudden it got into this part—"be my, be my baby"—and I said "What is—what?! Whoa whoa!" I pulled over to the side of the street of the curb and went, "...My God! ...Wait a minute! ...No way!" I was flipping out. I really did flip out. Balls-out totally freaked out when I heard. … In a way it wasn't like having your mind blown, it was like having your mind revamped. It's like, once you've heard that record, you're a fan forever.[19]
>The song ultimately revamped Wilson's songwriting and creative aspirations.[20] Wilson considers his "Don't Worry Baby" to be the male answer to "Be My Baby".[21][22] At one point, he instructed Beach Boys engineer Stephen Desper to create a tape loop consisting only of the song's chorus, listening to it for several hours in what Desper saw as "some kind of a trance".[23] Wilson's daughter Carnie stated that during her childhood: "I woke up every morning to boom boom-boom pow! Boom boom-boom pow! Every day."[24] Brian Wilson eventually did a cover of the song with the Beach Boys in July 1980 and later in 2000 on his solo album Live at the Roxy Theatre.
The night we met I knew I needed you so
And if I had the chance I'd never let you go
So won't you say you love me,
I'll make you so proud of me.
We'll make 'em turn their heads every place we go
So won't you, please, be my be my baby
Be my little. baby my one and only baby
Say you'll be my darlin', be my be my baby
Be my baby now, my one and only baby
So?

What's the rationale behind insisting these two were murdered?
It's obvious to any well-reasoned person that they both committed suicide. I'm just trying to understand the sickness behind pinning the deaths of them both on innocent people. What do people get out of it?
If you honestly think Elliott Smith himself you're a retard
If you honestly think they're two different people you're a retard.
