usually music I lift to is completely different from what i'd normally listen to. it usually devolves to me listening to pantera or godflesh because it easily translates to energy. any "good" albums that also work?

Sincere questions from a non-metalhead to metalheads: WHY do YOU listen to metal? What do you like about it and what draws you back to it?
>>71983757
I honestly don't know how someone could not like it, especially if you're lucky enough to live close enough to a city to see live shows.
I like loud guitars and fast drums and screaming. That's about it.
>>71983757
i listen to metal for the energy...thats WHY I listen to metal.
& baka that there are still people with a "satanic panic" reaction towards it.
Awful!! Why would anyone listen to this /m/?
>>71983734
Because they lack the experience and/or education ti relaize that it diesnt sound different or unique but actually soundsnthe exact same as any literal thousands of people who have "experimented"with this "technique". It's basically analogous to someone playing the piano who has literally no idea what they're doing. The difference being that the guitar requires some understanding of technique where the piano just requires pushing buttons.
And I love it when he "shows off" towards the end as if to prove that he simply chooses to play this way. Laughable
Okay. I give in. I like Mastodon.
that looks like cajunB
>>71983730
it's cool, anon, some of us other anons do too, myself included.
>>71983730
Same. Except I don't feel the need to "give in" to like them.
This is an anonymous internet forum - if you take other people's opinions as your own without thinking for yourself, then you have a problem.

Just finished listening to this, liked it a lot tbqhf. Why does /mu/ dislike Beach House so much?
>>71983309
Beach House is hated cause it's literally ''stick to the formula'' the band
Anything that gains wide appeal must be inherently bad. They were loved five years ago.
>>71983320
I agree but their first 3 albums are great. They've become much more glossy imo bloom they perfected it and it's all downhill from there. Both Depression Cherry and TYLS were stale
Hey mu im drunk and i want you to talk to me about this a;bum
It's a good listen but who has the time for it
>>71983233
It would be a pretty patrician way to go if you drank yourself to death while listening to it.
>>71983233
great album but i'm almost never in the mood for it which sucks
