ITT: Music (preferably albums) that makes you contemplate your past, present, and future.
Take me on a journey, /mu/.
Mount Eerie transcends time.

This gives me a southern gothic vibe for some reason. I guess it's still a carry over from Angels of Light. It's my favorite post reunion Swans album.
ITT: your favorite albums before you joined /mu/ vs after

Considering there are multiple Grimes threads every day, I'd give it a soft maybe.
>>71999636
cool ill check it out
I don't see a whole lot of experimental rock bands staying in that genre (most moving towards ambient music) is this just me?
I mean Brave Little Abacus was a genuine experimental rock band (not emo like alot of people claim) and they were active 2008-2011. Ween might be the last active band left but definitely not the last to come into existence. There's also always new music being made, despite we aren't hearing it.
>>71999579
I don't really consider Ween experimental rock either, they're brilliant and did some cool genre-crossing but not all that innovative
>>71999579
weezer is borderline psychotic in their experimenting
/blackmetal/ thread.
What are you listening to?

Ulver-- Bergtatt
Probably one of my fav albums period.

Been listening to this Darkthrone album a lot recently. Perhaps the most underrated Darkthrone album?
>listening to Frank Zappa laughing while recording intro to Watermelon in Easter Hay
>listening to him having a good time, he can't take it seriously
>realize his good times are gone, he's passed
When will our good times come to an end
>>71999461
Its okayanon, he fucked shit up while he was here and left a cool legacy

why do people listen to this band? is it just something to listen to while you do drugs?
because they fell for the DSOTM t-shirt meme and realized they should know some songs to namedrop
>>71999100
no people do not listen to this band, or no they listen for reasons independent of drugs?
>>71999123
People do listen for reasons independent of drugs
Wherein the best song on an album is the first one.
>>71999048
I think your track listing must be messed up, because that doesn't start with New Dawn Fades.

Who is the queen of patrician gays and why is it Björk?
>>71998871
i wish she was gay
bi pseudo-patrician here, and yeah, she's the queen
>>71998871
the "all gays like pop music and vise versa" meme is nothing but a marketing shtick to make retards like you buy music of your ""queen"".
10/10 psychedelic rock/pop albums
>>71998866
Psychedelic music for people who watch Dane Cook standup and go to church.

If you've heard less than 1000 albums you're still a plebeian.
Stop listening to the same 20 albums and start taking music seriously.
>tfw took me 6 years to listen to 1000 albums
;_;
it's not the amount of albums you've listened to, it's the quality of said albums. for all we know half of that thou is the buckethead discography.
that said, i'm sitting pretty at 2,300 albums as of rn. Come at me plebs.
