This is the album where The Flaming Lips truly started to suck. War with the Mystics was dull but at least had their charm, embryonic is so pointlessly dark
How is it dark? It seems just as whimsical as their other stuff. The Terror is dark, but that's not so bad either. Oczy Mlody is trash though
>>72290550
I have to agree with you anon. The Terror is good but ozcy mlody is garbage
Really? for me this is where they started to get good with some really interesting explorations into mind-numbing krautrock and the darker regions of psych music. Not sure how anyone can stand the disney-esque, symphonic cheese on the records before this one.
ITT: Albums that you revere and respect for their tantamount impact on the industry, but have not listened to more than once, because, let's face it: deep down, there are other albums you may like to listen to more.
Confess, /mu/!

What does /mu/ think about Ambient Music?
it's good
I'm unsure exactly what definition you're using. Ambient music can be from anything like a slow drone and some chimes or downtempo trip-hop like emancipator. Do you have an example? An afx piece you're going by?
Gotta be more specific imo
Love it and I'm also taking recommendations of 2017 releases
What do you say to people that go on and on about cultural appropriation of "black music"? I can't have a normal conversation about music with my friend without him going on and on about how I shouldn't listen to Elvis, The Rolling Stones, etc. because it was all "stolen" music. Is rock music even as deeply rooted in black culture as people make it out to be? Why should it matter so much anyway?
Rock music is deeply rooted in black culture, but that shouldn't matter. Your friend is retarded
You disregard them like the worthless insects they are. Anyone who cries about cultural appropriation isn't worth talking to on a serious level.
Guess what: different non-warring cultures in the same area will naturally accumulate traits of one another due merely to increased contact.
>>72290194
Cultural appropriation has got to be the stupidest fucking thing. Imagine if cultures didnt share things with each other because MUH RACISM. Stop eating pizza and sushi if you aren't white or asian
Does anyone know any good death industrial fronted by women? Pharmakon is okay, who else is there?
idk but bumping for interest
puce mary, the list could go on
