Btw this is music related because Jim Morrison's favourite animal was the chicken
Wtf hahahaha
Could you convince someone to switch from digital to vinyl?
Could you convince a poor person that it's worth saving up for?

When I listen to my music I dont want to hear a bunch of crackling and popping.
It's not a waste of time, it's a waste of money, sure there's the whole point of vinyl of "Dude you get the closest experience to your music when you do this" and the covers are pretty but overall i don't see a lot of people completely switching from digital and vinyl and buying every single album they have ever listened and waste thousands of dollars, vinyl is just a niche for most people, not a everyday use tool
It's more of a collector thing for me. When I really enjoy an album i will get it on vinyl, but i will still listen to digital versions anyway can't be bothered with all the needle dropping and plate turning, it's so inconvenient
Kyuss, Primus, QOTSA, Fuzz are the first that come to mind for me. What are your picks?

Is there any real advantage to collecting vinyl over CDs other than aesthetic purposes?
Not a single optical disc on Earth today will be functioning a hundred years from now
Every LP taken good care of will last for the next five hundred at the least

They're one of my favorite bands. They don't take themselves seriously at all so they cant be considered "special snowflake"
>>72687533
They're boring imo.
I think geddy has a shit voice, and lifeson simply doesn't sound interesting.
Good drummer, i guess.
Just a friendly reminder that we waited 7 years for this!

I'm gonna go ahead and call this experimental. It's not too left-field I know, but with the strange flow and the heavily looped jazz samples that are far more repetitive than your regular jazz rapper I'm going to have to put it in this category.

will he also release a concept album about panera bread being bought out?
>>72686697
Heartily kek'd
How long until he releases an album where the lyrics are all just about recording the album?
How can one man be so wrong?
I don't really agree with his rating but not because of how low it is but rather because I don't think ambient albums can really be that good or that bad, theyre just ambient. Dont get me wrong Im sure there are some boring or trash ambient albums out there I just think that overall ambient isn't that easy to rate on a scale used for all other music
>>72686552
How was he wrong? He supported his critiques with solid arguements and pointed out why this album is flawed.
That score may be a bit too harsh but it's definitely not a good album
>>72686552
As someone unfamiliar with Wolfgang Voigt or Gas prior to Narkopop, I hear something truly masterful here. I think what makes Voigt's approach to Ambient music on this album so successful is how shrouded it all is. There's that static and sort of hum to it all that fills the space, every tone lingering behind one another, and the entrancing progressions used throughout that shift from melancholy, to contentious, to peaceful. Something special about Voigt's approach to electronic music on Narkopop is that its effect could never be appropriately played or conveyed by a live symphony orchestra. This is electronic music that is truly idiomatic, that belongs in its world of synths and distortion. Narkopop is therefore yet another "lovely apocalypse" that I entrench myself into willingly, and excitedly.
