Why do people hate emo?
Because when they hear it's emo people automatically think of the 2000's shit trend and le depressing cut your veins xdd emo
In general people conflate the style of emo with the genre of emo. If you asked any person what they're favorite emo band is, I can absolutely guarantee you they would name a pop-punk band like MCR or Fall Out Boy.
they hate themselves
Does anyone else think Shaun Morgan from Seether tries to sound like Kurt Cobain?
First Example (More Twangy in his early years like kurt.)

Second example (Now he sounds nothing like that.)

>Does anyone else think Shaun Morgan from Seether tries to sound like Kurt Cobain?
that has always been a commonly held belief. he tried to sound, look and act like like him. no he's given up on that and has tried to sound more southern rockish. thus is the way of the post grunge artist. starts off trying to sound like one of the big 4 of grunge and eventually tries to be country/southern rock (shinedown, seether, staind).
UH yeah no shit everyone knows that Shaun rode his fame off kurts death.
He's recently been accused of ripping off a riff from TOOL.

Ian Watkins
Could it have been? Something about his 'suicide' just seems off, given comments by his wife regarding his mental state, the fact that he has a family, the fact that he is clean, the fact that he was on tour, etc.

WHY'D THEY TAKE THE STICKY DOWN???!!
>>72859461
It's pretty obvious. They found him on the ground in a bathroom with a rubber loop around his neck.
Emotionally-driven people do harmful things that outsiders can't rationalize. He was in his head and chose not to wait the mood out.

So we're pretty much in agreement this is their worst album to date, right?
They really jumped the shark here.
No, it's actually one of their best. But if you want to use music as a fashion statement, go on rants about how much better Filth, Cop, and CoG were and how they just don't have that power anymore (even though Greed was by far their best of the 80s), or then go on to say how Soundtracks is their magnum opus (even though people like you who can't accept new iterations of the band are the reason they broke up after complaints about Soundtracks).
>>72859303
I actually like the entirety of their discog, this just seems like a low point. The Glowing Man was a step up.
>>72859196
what are you talking about, their songwriting was fantastic on this album. Every track expressed a unique idea (sometimes multiple unique ideas), and personally I like the ideas they came up with. All the little touches: the laughter in Just A Little Boy, the chanting during the climax of A Little God, how the last half of Oxygen is subtly more chaotic than the first half (and the blowout section at the very end of the song where you finally catch your breath), how the ending of Screen Shot captures intense volume regardless of what volume you are listening to it at, the key (and mood) change halfway through Kirsten Supine, the exaggerated film-like finale of To Be Kind (the track that is). There are honestly so many moments in this album, I could go on naming more but you get the idea.
