When you discover a new artist and they only have 1 or 2 studio albums, and not some bloated list of shit
>and they're all good too
>when you don't discover a new artist because it's all shit
>when all you need is just one playlist with a few local files

I'll start
Look I enjoy Metallica okay. Yes it's pleb, yes they are embarrassing nowadays. But fuck man, I just started listening to... And Justice For All on a middle school nostalgia trip and this is good shit. Eye of the Beholder and Dyer's Eve especially. Can /mum/ agree that this band was at one time pretty good?
If you enjoy it it's bad.
>>73109913
/mu/ not mum. Phone posting
Early metallica is good and influential on metal, then they got old, and meh, and fought napster. And meal heads moved on.
What music do you think he's listening to?
My Sex Junk. He created it.
Radiohead

the guy on the left kinda looks like him XD
don't forget about her while you're here
ugly
How could I forget about my favorite overweight qt.
You have to be the same person posting the same pictures of her just so that you can validate your trash taste in waifus. Stop it.
Holy shit.
Death Grips BTFO
No matter how cheesy the lyrics are, it's unironically one of the best albums of the 90's.
>>73109857
You sound like someone who would unironically put this above The Downward Spiral.
Why isn't this bigger? Definitely my favourite solo album from the boys.
(Down There by Avey Tare)
>>73109760
it's really good but feels a little incomplete
my theory is Avey got over the depression half way through making it and lost motivation to tinker with it more, could have been a 9/10 rather than a 7/10 - 8/10
>>73109773
I think being depressed rather would make it more difficult to refine. cemeteries is really great
>>73109788
the depression/sadness was what was driving it... as soon as he saw the light at the end of the tunnel the album probably became less interesting to him to work on
Down There: 8/10
The Downward Spiral: 9/10
i can't really take most metal I've heard seriously. something about it feels like a put on, and so I have trouble connecting to the aggression underneath the facade of the aesthetic / style itself. I know this is vague, but I'm looking for some aggressive metal music that isn't corny. subjective, but if anyone has a similar hangup but has some recs, that would be great
The cheesiness is what makes it good though, I think you might be retarded
>>73109776
That's not the type of album I'm talking about though. I'm talking about the type of metal that takes itself more seriously. I can appreciate some good kitsch in context
How are you defining "aggressive" and how are you defining "corny"?
All metal is aggressive to some extent. And corniness is completely subjective and could mean a number of different things. So you're going to have to be more specific.
This album was like Marcel Duchamp's Urinal of this year. People praised it because of it's circumstances, and it's delivery, it's message. But the actual music here, much like Duchamp's Urinal, is uninteresting. The album from a musical standpoint is shit, its nothing interesting what so ever. People just flocked to it because of the album's circumstances and because the message was so profound. Just like Duchamp and his urinal.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I'm just saying. If you have a listener this album and didn't tell them about what happened before it, they would rate it very low. It's not very interesting musically.
>>73109674
Pretty much every positive review of the album I've read acknowledges that though. I understand what you're getting at with the Fountain analogy but it's pretty misguided because of intent, meaning and significance.
>>73109715
Can you elaborate?
I'm not well educated in art, I mean shit I just learned it was called Fountain from you, but what am I missing, why is how I'm thinking misguided?
>>73109674
bad cover
Leave hip hop to me
One decent mixtape. Last album was awful. Also he tries to sound smarter than he is. Might be top 10 in chicago at this moment tho
