Alright so I'm not trying to shitpost, but I checked this out based on yesterday's thread and thought it was super interesting as a piece of art. Is there anything else like this?

"Like this if you are watching this in 2066"
Worth getting? I make my music in Ableton Live, and prefer the live feeling of Session view to the arrangement. It's kind of a drag to have to press each clip manually though (or master), and maintaining the volume of each clip is a bit hard with the mouse, thus, the APC mini, which i'd only really use in recording, seems good to play live with as well if I needed to
Pretty cheap as well, my clips rarely exceed 8, I use only about 2-4 columns at a time also so it's a great size for me. Anyone else got one? Thoughts?
If you dont have a midi keyboard yet, i find that more useful overall
>>73134336
Already have one, it's good for hearing sounds but I don't use it near as much as I thought I would. I generally use samples and loops, I though i'd hate writing a melody out on a computer screen but I find it easier than on my tiny 25 key midi keyboard
akai products are pretty horrible quality so you get what you pay for
i guess its not like you are playing it like a keyboard or anything so it might be fine
Guys I feel like I can't enjoy music anymore pls help

You guys know the drill.
well fuc
any amateur musicians here?
how do you write music?
discuss songwriting here
also this is NOT a soundcloud thread, I don't care about your shitty 10-minute long "ambient noise" track which is just a recording of a frog croaking paulstretched in audacity
I grab a six pack, smoke a bowl, then drink and noodle around on guitar until something seems to stick/stand out.
the actual songwriting part is easy, i mean anything can be a song but the lyrics part is the hardest part and then like combining it with the energy of the music to text paint is like the next level but both the music and the words need to be figured out before that happens well

hey grateful dead sold like 10 million albums that way, you could become a star
I like this more than Deathconsiousness. Is Giles Corey a good project to get into?
Yes but both HANL albums are better than Giles Corey.
I like this album more too, I think it works better as a album than Deathconsciousness even though the later got better songs.
>>73134171
Yeah my exact feelings. Deathconsiousness is kind of disorganized. Kinda like the glow pt 2, but not nearly as good as the glow is, because it feels like that album was meant to be that way
>>73134197
I can't listen to Deathconsiousness anymore without wanting to skip to the highlights while I can listen to all The Unnatural World easily. Great comparison.

What is the definition of dad rock? and why do people hate it so much?
Because /mu/ is full of beta virgin nu-males that hates their alpha dads
>>73133981
the rock music before the post punk revolution, circa 1965-1977
>>73133981
>What is the definition of dad rock?
rock from before the 90s with heavy blues influences. the reason i specify before the 90s is because most things after that are revivalist.
>and why do people hate it so much?

What is his best and what is his worst album?
I like "Heroes" and Hunky Dory.
His 60s stuff is kind of annoying.
