Redpill me on artists like Ariel Pink and John Maus. Why the fuck do people like them so much?
Like their music is good, I get it. But it's just so bland and sounds like something from the 80s.
Why don't people listen to actual 80s stuff instead of listening to them?

I agree with you that the music their music uses as a jumping-off point is much better than their actual music but Ariel Pink draws from different music and has a more interesting aesthetic than John Maus imo. the whole "hypnagogic pop" thing has a certain appeal, if extremely shallow. both 6/10 artists and nothing more.

I mean why are they held at a higher regard to the people they copy.
So plebbit finally did something good for once , they got the majority of the tracklist down and the stream from Richard up, it's on google drive though . Who's going to upload to mega ? https://www.reddit.com/r/aphextwin/comments/6f1wqi/aphex_twin_june_3rd_2017_field_day_discussion/dif7glh/

Experimental is the key word, pretty sure experimental brostep isn't a thing.
Maybe if recess was a """""good""""" album you could make that comparison. Kyoto is lit tho XD
>>73160258
Can't argue with that to be quite honest with you family
>>73160659
experimental brostep exists, actually

I imagine in the future when meme history is rightly taught in our education system that this will be played to teach students everything they need to know about mid-2000s memery, or as it was then called a "viral video"
>>73160250
I actually really liked/like this music video. It didn't feel like modern, corporate, "hello fellow kids," and it more seemed like they genuinely wanted to be part of something fun.
i like this video sort of. too bad weezer's in it
